Chiarella's Heating & Cooling is a heating and air conditioning company that says it was founded by Michael Chiarella in 1995; its website describes Mike as a US Army veteran. The company lists Bridgewater, Brookfield, Kent, New Fairfield, Preston, Roxbury and Sherman as its service area. On Google it has 4.8 stars from 22 ratings, and on Angi 3.9 stars from 45 ratings. A recent Google customer called the company honest and reliable. A 2024 customer said their AC stopped working on a 90-degree day and Mike was at the house within an hour, after hours, and quickly got it fixed. A 2024 customer said Mike came out the same morning during a heatwave and had them sorted before lunch. A 2023 customer said Mike had installed their System 2000 and was servicing it, and that he came quickly for an emergency when they had no hot water. In a 2025 Reddit comment, a commenter said Chiarella's in New Milford did the work when they replaced their oil furnace with a System 2000 in 2018, at about 12k, and called them clean and competent. A 2017 customer said Mike quickly and correctly diagnosed and fixed their furnace after a different company had misdiagnosed the issue. A 2017 customer said they diagnosed a complicated problem with the central air, repaired it quickly and cleaned up thoroughly. A 2018 customer described an annual oil burner tune up and a return visit to repair a broken damper, and thought the prices were reasonable. A 2015 customer called the price a complete ripoff: $400 for maybe 5-10 minutes of work and a $13 part. A 2015 customer said they paid about $380 for a $62 part, and that an 8am-to-12pm arrival window ended with the tech arriving at 1:00pm. A 2016 customer said they were charged $100 just to show up, twice, and the furnace stopped again a few minutes after each fix. A 2014 customer said issues on their job left water on the floor and damaged the control board, though a spare was available at the shop. Connecticut lists its S1 heating and cooling contractor licence, HTG.0393271-S1, as active.
“I replaced my oil furnace in 2018 with a System 2000. Cost was about 12k, and I immediately started saving on oil consumption compared to my old Burnham. It’s super quiet, and zero maintenance issues 8 years in. Chiarella’s in New Milford did the work, they were clean, competent and fast.”

Chiarella's Heating & Cooling is outstanding! My AC stopped working on a 90-degree day, and Mike was at my house within an hour, even though it was after hours. He quickly got it fixed and saved us from the heat. He’s since serviced my AC and has been incredibly nice, helpful, and trustworthy. I highly recommend Chiarella's Heating & Cooling!
