A recent Google reviewer said Brian from Cityside Locksmith added keyless locks to their 100+ year old home, then took a few extra minutes to adjust some older locks that were loose. Cityside describes itself as a mobile locksmith offering residential, commercial and automotive lock and key services around the Greater Boston area, and says it was founded in 2011 as a mobile locksmith service based in Somerville, MA. In a small Somerville condo, a recent customer said Brian rekeyed the locks for everyone, then came back and restructured the front door locks to simplify them. A commenter in r/ArlingtonMA said the business has handled original 1910 doors and locks, modern doors and locks, and storage shed locks, and described it as owner operated. A 2023 reviewer said Brian reprogrammed their car for a second electronic key and replaced both of their apartment locks. A 2023 customer said Brian installed two keypad deadbolts the customer had already bought and fixed the alignment on the doors. A 2022 customer said it took him about an hour to replace an old 70s lock with a modern one, a lock their GC had said couldn't be replaced. Lockouts make up part of the work. A 2025 customer locked out of a studio by a faulty August lock said they were quoted $135, someone arrived in the 20 minutes the phone call promised, and the lock was opened quickly. A 2022 reviewer said Cityside answered a neighbor's lockout call and showed up as promised at 9pm on Good Friday. Its BBB page shows an A+ grade, and the business is not BBB accredited. A 2024 customer wrote that the company advertises being available 24/7, but they called the number on its website five times over an hour and got no response.
“Cityside Locksmith has been great for me with both original 1910 doors/locks, modern doors and locks, and also storage shed locks. https://maps.app.goo.gl/tRMUoQim2hTjjp8t9 The business is owner operated so you're always getting the best service.”
We were quite impressed with the services we received from Brian. He arrived on time (rare these days!) introduced himself (ditto) and had everything he needed to add keyless locks to our new-to-us 100+ year old home. He spent a good bit of time adjusting the new locks and making sure they worked well. He even took a few extra minutes to adjust some of the older locks that were loose and not working up to his standards. We enthusiastically recommend Brian and the folks at Cityside Locksmith for any of your needs.
Brian rekeyed the locks for everyone in our new small Somerville condo and added some extras for us - and did great work! He also came back and restructured the front door locks to greatly simplify them for everyone. Highly recommend him!
I highly recommend it.
We were locked out of our studio due to a faulty August lock. I called up and was quoted $135 to get us in, which is less than I’ve paid other locksmiths in the past. The man on the phone said someone would be over in 20 minutes and he arrived exactly then. He quickly opened the lock and gave suggestions for improvements in the door and lock system to prevent it happening again. I was able to pay quickly with a card and was emailed a receipt. Fast and friendly service, I will call them again with any future issues!
Reliable, knowledgable, professional, local, affordable. Call Brian.
