Climatech Services LLC is a Quincy-based HVAC contractor that says it's been in the heating and cooling business since 1968, with "over 50 years" serving the greater Boston area — plus plumbing, by its own account. The jobs people call them for range from mini-split checkups to full furnace and boiler replacements. The most recent review on file, from a homeowner who was traveling this spring, describes Climatech sending someone out mid-snowstorm to replace a failed furnace at what they called a fair price instead of taking advantage of the situation. Technicians Terry and Michael are each named more than once in older reviews for walking customers through what was wrong and how the fix worked, and in a 2023 review a customer said a furnace installed 15 years earlier in Hyde Park was still running. A 2025 review also mentioned Spanish-language service from a staff member during a routine mini-split checkup. But the years in between include a run of unresolved installation complaints. In a 2025 review, a customer said a new heat pump system still struggled to heat the house two winters after it went in; another 2025 review described a flooded basement and a leak the company reportedly took about two years to diagnose after an oil furnace install. A 2024 review said replacement boilers were the wrong size and were never fixed, ending in a small-claims judgment against the company that went unpaid, and a 2023 review described a job left unfinished for six months. A 2026 post on a home-services directory raised a similar complaint, describing months of stalled work and an unresponsive contact. The Better Business Bureau gives Climatech an F, citing a missing competency license and two unanswered complaints — worth asking about directly before booking. Google, meanwhile, shows a considerably brighter 4.3★ from 23 ratings, a gap that doesn't line up with the BBB grade or the mix of reviews on file. Climatech may suit a straightforward repair or an emergency call — the most recent review on file describes a good outcome — but the sizing and follow-through problems other customers have reported are worth raising directly before booking: ask how a new system will be sized and what happens if it needs a callback after installation.
“Beware of Climatech work ethic. I paid them to do an HVAC work, it's been more than 3 month Mike refuse to complete the work.”
I was out of the country and had an emergency where my furnace needed to be replaced. Climatech sent someone out in the middle of a snowstorm to repair my furnace. They could have easily taken advantage of the situation and charged more but they gave an extremely reasonable price and were fantastic to work with. Will definitely be using them for future plumbing/HVAC needs!
Great service, the mini splits are working perfectly after their annual check up. As a hispanic person, it was also very nice to talk to Frank in my own language.
I would think twice about using Climatech. I was looking to replace my old gas boiler system with two heat pumps, one for the second floor, one for the main floor. Michael came into my home 2 years ago, we discussed a plan and agreed what to install and how to update the current A/C vent layout. The tech that came to do the installation were great, but that's where the good news stops. The past 2 winters have been miserable, when temps get below 30* outside. The system struggles to get the temps in the house up to 67*, and the heat pumps can run on average 18 hours a day during these colder spells. I have needed to add space heaters in the living room to get the temp to 67-68*. I have a study, that we need to close off for the winter because their solution to heating the room was not sufficient. To make the situation worse, I've been complaining to Michael (the owner) and the office over the past two years. My requests for a solution have gone unanswered, no returned calls and at times no returned emails. If I do get someone on the phone, I get empty promises that someone will get back to me. I fear that I will need to hire a different HVAC Co. if I want to get this issue resolved. Incredibly disappointed and frustrated.
Absolutely do not use this company. They flooded my basement when we got our oil furnace installed and our heat stops working three times every winter. Each time it’s a different issue but recently they needed to replace a part that was rusting inside. The unit has been leaking water since it was installed but it took them two years to figure this out. Said they would order the part and months went by. They now claim that they have new ownership and there was a miscommunication but the furnace is now in even worse shape. I was quoted by another company and sent climatech the estimate to ask for them to cover some of it. They begged to do the work themselves and jerked me around for weeks.
Their team did an amazing job for us! Everything was done while I was at work for my 8-4 job and it only took a few days. That was even after a delay from sourcing parts that would work for our very old house. All of them were very nice and made sure to show us how everything works. They made everything incredibly easy by having all kinds of contractors on staff too. I really appreciate all of their work and would 100% recommend working with Climatech Services.
