A 4.3-star Google page and an F grade from the Better Business Bureau — that split turns up almost immediately researching Climatech Services (also styled ClimaTech), a Quincy, MA outfit that says it has covered the greater Boston area with heating, cooling and some plumbing work since 1968. The Google-linked reviews back up the good half of that split: 23 ratings averaging 4.3 stars, plus a separate aggregator counting 3.9 stars across 30 reviews. In March 2026, a customer who was out of the country during a furnace emergency said Climatech sent a technician out in the middle of a snowstorm and charged a fair price rather than taking advantage of the situation. The other half is harder to wave off. Within that same run of Google-linked ratings, three reviewers left 1-star ratings citing persistent heating failures and an unresponsive company, and a separate directory shows the business rated 1.00 out of 5 across two reviews. The BBB doesn't accredit Climatech and grades it an F, pointing to a required competency license the company failed to hold and two complaints it never answered — and in June 2026, a customer on another site said a technician left an HVAC job unfinished for more than three months after being paid. Climatech reads like a reasonable call for a fast, fairly priced emergency repair — the kind of job its best review describes — but not a business to hire for a bigger job without some homework first. Ask directly about current licensing before signing anything, and get any completion timeline in writing.

I was out of the country and had an emergency where my furnace needed to be replaced. Climatech sent someone out in the middle of a snowstorm to repair my furnace. They could have easily taken advantage of the situation and charged more but they gave an extremely reasonable price and were fantastic to work with. Will definitely be using them for future plumbing/HVAC needs!

Great service, the mini splits are working perfectly after their annual check up. As a hispanic person, it was also very nice to talk to Frank in my own language.

I would think twice about using Climatech. I was looking to replace my old gas boiler system with two heat pumps, one for the second floor, one for the main floor. Michael came into my home 2 years ago, we discussed a plan and agreed what to install and how to update the current A/C vent layout. The tech that came to do the installation were great, but that's where the good news stops.

The past 2 winters have been miserable, when temps get below 30* outside. The system struggles to get the temps in the house up to 67*, and the heat pumps can run on average 18 hours a day during these colder spells. I have needed to add space heaters in the living room to get the temp to 67-68*. I have a study, that we need to close off for the winter because their solution to heating the room was not sufficient.

To make the situation worse, I've been complaining to Michael (the owner) and the office over the past two years. My requests for a solution have gone unanswered, no returned calls and at times no returned emails. If I do get someone on the phone, I get empty promises that someone will get back to me.

I fear that I will need to hire a different HVAC Co. if I want to get this issue resolved.

Incredibly disappointed and frustrated.

Absolutely do not use this company. They flooded my basement when we got our oil furnace installed and our heat stops working three times every winter. Each time it’s a different issue but recently they needed to replace a part that was rusting inside. The unit has been leaking water since it was installed but it took them two years to figure this out. Said they would order the part and months went by. They now claim that they have new ownership and there was a miscommunication but the furnace is now in even worse shape. I was quoted by another company and sent climatech the estimate to ask for them to cover some of it. They begged to do the work themselves and jerked me around for weeks.

Their team did an amazing job for us! Everything was done while I was at work for my 8-4 job and it only took a few days. That was even after a delay from sourcing parts that would work for our very old house. All of them were very nice and made sure to show us how everything works. They made everything incredibly easy by having all kinds of contractors on staff too.

I really appreciate all of their work and would 100% recommend working with Climatech Services.
