Boston Electrical Solutions is a Quincy-based electrical contractor that says it's been in business more than 10 years, offering wiring, panel upgrades, fire alarm and security systems, HVAC installs, and 24/7 emergency service to homes and businesses. It carries an active Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office certification as a Women Business Enterprise, good through 2029. Its written record is short — seven Google reviews since 2024 — but shows range beyond a typical single-family electrician. One reviewer described a condo building losing power in several units; a crew arrived within an hour, diagnosed the problem, and arranged a temporary fix to keep the building heated while working toward a permanent solution. Another needed a fire alarm system installed to close on an apartment purchase and said the company came in at half the price and half the lead time of other quotes, then did recessed lighting and other small jobs for the same customer afterward. A 2026 smoke-detector replacement job drew praise for the office manager's responsiveness in scheduling and answering questions. Two reviews from August 2024 are worth knowing about before calling: one customer said the crew never showed up and never called to explain, and another described a company driver cutting them off and throwing ice from a vehicle on the road — an account of driver conduct rather than the electrical work itself, but a real complaint on the record. With only a handful of reviews and both good and bad experiences described, it's worth confirming a specific appointment window and getting a firm scope before work starts, especially for the kind of larger commercial or multi-unit jobs the stronger reviews describe.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Boston Electrical Solutions. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Standard receptacle swaps — a new dedicated circuit is a bigger job ($350–$750).
Flush mounts, pendants, chandeliers — hung on existing boxes.

Our condo building had an electrical problem resulting in power outages in some of the units. They had a crew respond within an hour after the call. Their team diagnosed the problem quickly and proposed a temporary solution to ensure everyone had heat until they could provide emergency power to the building and come up with a permanent solution. The crew they sent were outstanding, professional and extremely helpful. I can't recommend them enough.
Boston Electric Solutions completed a replacement of all my smoke detectors. It was easy to schedule within a very reasonable timeline. The office manager Jess was extremely helpful and friendly with answering my questions. When she didn’t know the answer she followed up and quickly got back to me. The technician who came out was friendly and made his plans clear to me. Overall, a very positive experience and I would confidently recommend Boston Electric Solutions.
I had Boston Electrical handle some work at my home, and they did a great job. The work was completed quickly, safely, and at a fair price. I will definitely use them again and recommend their services!
Bought in an apartment building and as part of the closing needed to install a fire alarm system. Got some crazy high prices and luckily heard about Jim. These guys were half the price with lead times half the time. Job was done to perfection, got the green light to close. Thx Jim! Ps have also had them do recessed lighting and other odds and ends. Good company
