Coast Carpentry traced it to a giant rotted picture-window frame, sourced a compatible replacement the same day, and had it installed within eight hours — that was December 2025, and it is the shape of what this Osterville company gets called for: the outside of the house, often in a hurry.
The through-line across 78 Google ratings averaging 4.9 is the building envelope — siding, trim, gutters, roofs, windows, decks. A homeowner writing in September 2025 listed one summer's work: CertainTeed vinyl siding, new gutters, fascia and soffit, PVC trim on the windows, doors and corners, an old deck torn down and rebuilt, a hardscape walkway with granite steps, a replaced sliding door and storm door. Another, in November 2024, counted a balcony teardown, new insulated windows upstairs, full siding and trim with shutters, two insulated doors and new stairs with railings — all in under three weeks.
The work runs well past carpentry. In reviews through 2025, homeowners named Coast Painting for interior repaints and cabinet work, and Coast Masonry for a Belgian-block drive and bluestone walkways in May 2025; in July 2026 a customer described the landscaping crew phasing the job around a hot, dry summer. Its BBB page is an A+, accredited since March 2023, and the Massachusetts construction supervisor licence the company builds under, CS-109981, is active — it is held by Joao DeMoura. BBB also lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 207596, for the business.
Two things are worth raising before you call. In July 2026 a customer gave three stars and was specific about why: the crew turned the garage into a woodshop without covering anything, leaving four days of sawdust to wipe off furniture and belongings, and the price moved after the fact — an extra $1,300 for work they had asked for during the walkthrough and assumed was in the estimate. A June 2024 reviewer had a rougher run on a single bow window: several attempts before the correct one was ordered, a massive window that turned up in the driveway days early with no heads-up, and a message that went unanswered.
Both complaints sit at the edges of the job rather than in the woodwork — even the three-star reviewer opened with “the woodworking was strong.” So the ask is narrow: get every finish item and inclusion written into the estimate, and agree up front who covers and protects what inside the house. Do that, and this is a sensible call for exterior work, decks and multi-trade remodels on the Cape, where one crew handling roof, siding, paint and hardscape on the same job actually saves you something.
