Michael Lysik's Amesbury company shows up in town permit records more convincingly than on review sites: ten permitted projects, four of them within the last three years, valued from about $7,000 up to $508,000, spread across Newbury, Wenham, West Newbury, Middleton, Newburyport, Salisbury, Haverhill and Methuen. The homeowners who have hired them are uniformly positive — 5.0 from six Thumbtack reviews, all of them five stars, four hires booked through the platform, and a matching 5.0 on BuildZoom. That history is shallow and aging, though, and the Angi and HomeAdvisor profiles carry no reviews at all. BuildZoom scores the company 124, which it places above 99% of the Massachusetts contractors it tracks, and says it confirmed an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #198816, in April 2026. Two older registrations under the company name are listed as inactive and cancelled, so pin down which number is current before you sign anything. What they list matches what the permits describe: additions, whole-house and multi-room remodels, kitchens and baths, basements and new construction, residential and commercial. The company self-reports 10 years in business, quotes free estimates, and takes credit cards; Michael Lysik has passed Thumbtack's background check. A sensible call for a substantial Merrimack Valley remodel or addition — the permitted job values say they handle real scope rather than small repairs. Ask for the current registration number, a certificate of insurance, and two recent references, since the public review trail is a few years old.

I hired Mike to install a pull down staircase to my attic above the garage. I would have checked all 5 options above about what I liked about Mike and his company. Mike is knowledgeable, does fantastic work, completed the job exactly the way I wanted it done, and is very reasonable. He put down a plywood floor in the attic and he is always conscious about the details. I will definitely use Mike in the future for any construction projects, and will recommend him to friends and family. Details: Crawl space or attic, replace parts of existing structure, less than 500 sq ft, home, I am the owner. General Contracting. Hired on Thumbtack.

As a designer, I assisted homeowners in planning and designing a major update to their home in Salem. My homeowners hired Mike after meeting with two other contractors to oversee a renovation of their home. Mike was professional, punctual, and thoroughly scoped the project from the get go. Although his pricing wasn't the lowest in the initial bid process, it encompassed the full scope so there were very little surprises that popped up, and for the minor unforeseeable ones that did we were able to quickly pivot with creative solutions. His team, including an electrician and flooring installer did a great job, and we are all delighted with the results so far. Mikes work quality and knowledge is also superior. Recommend him for a trustworthy and transparent process. Details: Single room remodel, living room. Home Remodeling. Hired on Thumbtack.

I bought my home in Merrimac, MA, which was a "flip". It was a small Colonial that was taken down to the studs and redone. Walls were removed downstairs so as to make it an open concept. It is bright and inviting. The materials used were of very good quality. I have had many friends who have asked me who did it and were impressed with the attention to detail. I did not hire Coastal as it was listed for sale. I have lived in the house now for a year and am pleased.

Total house renovation. Micheal is a top notch contractor whose work is impecable. His attention to detail, selection of materials, workmanship, and planning skills are all equally outstanding. We've worked with several different contractors throughout our adult lives, and Michael is by far the best. He is gifted in his ability to transform bland rooms into beautiful yet functional spaces.
