A 2023 customer said he picked up a small table that had been in their family for 3 generations, repaired it and returned it for a reasonable price; that 2023 customer also said he warned that his schedule was very busy. A 2022 customer wrote that Brandon had worked on several projects for them, including septic, plumbing, countertops and deck repair. A 2026 customer gave half a star after a job to remove a front exterior door and install a customer-supplied door and floor tiles. That customer said they paid a $4,000 check that included $1,800 for a separate project, that no written contract was provided, and that CHPR insisted on complete payment before finishing the work. That customer also objected to a board with preexisting cuts used on the exterior and listed remaining items: a gap between the inside door threshold and the floor tiles, a lack of sealant with daylight visible from inside, and staircase trim left unattached.
Coastal HPR (CHPR) verbally agreed to remove front exterior door and install customer supplied replacement door and flooring tiles. Both CHPR and I agreed that the pricing would vary depending on extent of damage to door frame and adjoining structures. CHPR received check payment of $4,000 for this project that included $1,800 for a separate project. CHPR removed old door, water damaged sub-flooring and floor tiles. CHPR installed new door, sub-flooring, and floor tiles. CHPR did not provide written contract agreement and the written estimate was repeatedly unavailable due to CHPR having printer issues. CHPR insisted on complete payment before finishing work and allowing me to inspect finished work. He texted, I will finish the work after I get the final payment I do the same thing with every customer . CHPR was paid a $1,600 check to facilitate their completion of the project. CHPR used a board on the exterior of the home that had precious cuts that cheapened the visual appearance of the door. When asked CHPR said Saved up money so u did not have to buy a board and Caulking and paint ot will look fine I texted on 22 June. Dear Brandon, Please stop by 9 Twin Pond Rd to discuss the remaining unfinished work. There is a concern regarding the decision to use a board with preexisting cuts rather than offering the option to purchase a new one. Additionally, the following items require attention: - Door Threshold: A gap remains between the inside door threshold and the floor tiles that needs to be filled with trim or suitable material. - Floor Gaps: There is a gap in the floor tiles near the bottom of the stairs and the dining room that requires trim or filler. - Sealant and Pads: Daylight is visible from inside the house, indicating a lack of sealant. The pads you mentioned have not yet been installed. - Staircase Trim: The trim where the post meets the floor is unattached, and a piece is missing. I would like to resolve these issues amicably and complete this project as soon as possible.
The contractor saved me money by repairing rather than replacing.
He repaired a small table that was literally falling apart, and that had been in my family for 3 generations. He picked it up, repaired it very nicely, and returned it, all for a reasonable price. He seemed knowlegeable and was personable. My only quibble is that we identified a few other projects (some small, some medium) that we could use his help for, he warned me that his schedule was very busy, just hope he can work us in soon. I certainly see why he is in demand.
Brandon was friendly, efficient, and able to fit us into his schedule qithin a week of when we first spoke. He shored up our deck, replaced railings, and the whole thing looks great.
Brandon came to the house to fix a rain diverter that had come loose on the roof of our home. He arrived with all the gear he needed, quoted a more than fair price, and did a great job. I'd be more than happy to hire him again for future projects.
