We have worked with Coastline Carpentry on numerous projects for our clients. From day one, we were impressed with Rob's attitude, honesty, and professionalism. He is truly a skilled craftsman and takes pride in all of the work he does. One of our favorite projects he did was custom bunk beds. Our clients are thrilled to have these in their home for their grandkids to enjoy for years to come. Rob and his team show up on time and communicate effectively. We also hired him for our own home to build a beautiful new updated and modern railing for our stairs. We get compliments all of the time. We would not hesitate to recommend Rob and the Coastline Carpentry team. His work is truly beautiful.
Rob did a great job with the work! He was a real delight to be around, easy to work with, and made the whole process quick and professional. You can tell he takes pride in his work, and everything came out great. I’d definitely recommend Rob to anyone looking for quality carpentry work.
With so many carpenters in the area, it can be difficult to find someone consistent and reliable. Rob is always dependable, comes with great ideas, and helps me find ways to stay within budget without sacrificing quality. His work is built to last, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality craftsmanship.
Found Rob through a friend. Hired him to remodel a very small 2x5 closet, put an arched opening into a non supporting wall at the top of a staircase, and swap out my front door. For pricing I told him I was hoping we could stay close to 20k and his quote came slightly over but very close no issues there. About 5 days before we were supposed to start he sent me a curt message saying he could no longer do the work due to “the type of service you are expecting”. He had already cashed the $7,400 deposit check close to two weeks prior. Since he never communicated any issues to me I was completely caught off guard and had to try and piece together why he was saying this. I did directly ask but he essentially repeated the same thing. My only guess is that it had to do with me asking questions about choosing the front door. As we got closer to the date I realized we had never talked about things like if the glass would be clear or privacy/textured and different doors had different options so, admittedly, there were many questions I asked about the front door however I don’t know how else anyone would go about making a decision without asking questions. I even offered to go to an Anderson location and talk to a rep there but was not taken up on the offer. Again I’m assuming this because I still don’t know for sure this is just my best guess because a majority of our recent communication was about selecting the front door. Either way first time I’ve ever been through something like this and felt as though it was very unprofessional. He did return my $7,400 deposit but the whole experience was very unsettling and has set me back a few months. If asking questions about front door options are too overwhelming then I couldn’t imagine going through something actually difficult like the many details of a kitchen remodel. Silver lining here is that we actually didn’t start because it’s every homeowners nightmare to be in the middle of a project and the guy walks out halfway because you asked the wrong question and he took it personally. Doing any project in your home can be stressful on top of life’s normal stresses (for me and my wife it’s our first baby and trying to get on top of new sleep schedules) and this is an experience I think anyone would want to avoid.
Rob was a breath of fresh air, true craftsman! Completed our second floor addition on time and on budget. Will be calling again for our kitchen!
