Coliman Construction

Coliman Construction is a Chelsea, Massachusetts general contractor whose website lists new construction, additions, framing, roofing, siding, painting, and kitchen and bathroom work. The company's site says its principal, Mr. Garcia, started GS Construction in 2006 and Eagles Construction in Boston in 2009 before turning to Coliman Construction, which he now runs with his sons. On Google, a May 2025 review called the tile work on a bathroom remodel flawless and praised the crew's attention to detail, another described a kitchen remodel the same month as bringing the customer's vision to life and credited the owner as professional and experienced, and a third had the company paint the customer's home, build a walk-in closet, and install fixtures, calling the crew 'very professional.' Worth knowing before hiring: a labor-violation tracking database lists a 2021 Massachusetts Attorney General wage-and-hour action against the company with a $7,500 penalty. Separately, accounts of how long Coliman itself has operated don't agree — a construction-industry directory puts its incorporation at 2000, Angi reports 10 years of experience, and the owner's own account traces his path through two earlier companies founded in 2006 and 2009. Coliman is worth a look for a kitchen or bathroom remodel given the specific praise those jobs have drawn, though it's still worth asking about the 2021 wage-and-hour matter, confirming current insurance, and checking references before signing a contract.
