Commonwealth Glass & Mirror Corporation

Commonwealth Glass & Mirror is a Watertown glass shop that, by its own account, has been cutting glass for Greater Boston since 1958 and is still family-owned and run. The jobs customers describe are the small, fiddly ones a big window company will not touch: glass for kitchen cabinet doors cut the same day in a 2024 review, and recut for free when the customer had measured wrong; a chipped vase repaired; a tiny piece of bevelled glass made and set into a clock case in 2021. Bob is the name that comes up. In a 2024 review, a customer's aunts, 93 and 96, had a slider that would not open; Bob got it working at no charge instead of selling them a new door. Another 2024 customer had him install a custom mirror wall in a 16-by-30-foot bedroom. A January 2026 reviewer praised a front-door glass insert replacement for the attention to detail, and a July 2026 Redditor said the shop fixed something the previous owners' kid had broken before they bought the house, at a reasonable price. Google shows 4.5 stars from 23 ratings; the company is a BBB-accredited business with an A+ grade and lists residential and commercial glass, custom mirrors, shower enclosures, skylights and picture framing. Price is the thing to check. A September 2025 reviewer said the quote came in at literally twice what other established local shops asked, and a 2022 customer who was happy with an on-time window-glass replacement also noted the cost ran a little higher than competing estimates.
