Prime Glass and Mirror is a Watertown, MA glass shop at 60 Arsenal St — the kind of place people call for a cracked window pane, a shower door that's started to stick, or a mirror that needs replacing. The company's own site says it's been at this 25 years; BBB records put the figure at 24. Reviewers name the owner, Larry, directly, describing him fielding calls and sending out his own techs. The most recent review, from August 2026, describes Larry sending "his top tech" Levy to fix a shifting glass shower door — the reviewer called it "an expert, imaginative fix" and said the cost was a great value for how complicated the job was. That kind of quick turnaround shows up again and again in the record: in an October 2025 review, a broken glass pane was fixed "the next day and for cheap"; in a July 2025 review, a single-paned window was replaced within a day of a call; and in a 2021 review, a broken mirror on an old door was repaired "super-fast" with the surrounding molding kept intact. Two other reviews tell a rougher story about pricing and communication. In a November 2025 review, a customer said having a shower glass panel removed and reinstalled cost $900 for about four hours of labor — well above the $225 they'd paid for a similar tune-up before — and called the charge excessive. In an October 2022 review, another customer described a four-week wait just to get a price on a sheet of glass and called the phone experience rude, adding that a competitor cut the same piece in three hours with pricing on the spot. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 122942, is also registry-verified but currently expired. Prime Glass and Mirror is the kind of shop worth calling for a straightforward glass repair or a tricky shower door fix — the reviews that go into detail describe real technical skill. Before a bigger job, it's worth asking for pricing in writing upfront and confirming the status of that HIC registration.
I strongly recommend Prime Glass. Larry sent out Levy, his top tech, to repair our shifting glass shower door. They worked out an expert, imaginative fix. They were fast, effective, smart, and a pleasure to work with. The cost was a great value for this complicated job. Five stars.
I had a shower glass panel removed for work to be done in my shower previously had a tune up on door hitting cost $225. Now to remove panel and come back to put it in place $900 that was very excessive amount for the total time of 4 hours of labor total. My big mistake I trusted them travel time 5 min one mile away. Always get in writing see the damn NUMBER they will charge you . Also I stated I have a bathroom second floor unit I wanted identical shower glass enclosure and I wanted them to do it. That is definitely not going to happen. I reached out to them told them I was upset with the 900 amount and wrote them a letter no response very bad business and customer service vinnie caporiccio
brought in a broken glass pane. they had it fixed the next day and for cheap. very pleasant and professional experience would recommend
Prime Glass and Mirror is wonderful! I had an old wooden, single paned window that needed the glass replaced. I called ahead and spoke with Larry who was very nice. The glass pane was replaced within a day and I couldn't be happier. I know this was a small project but it was an important repair item for me and I really appreciate the warm customer service. I look forward to using Prime again, thank you Larry!
Ordered a piece of tempered glass for the shelf in my fridge. Absolutely happy with what I got. Thank you!
