The striking number for this Haverhill HVAC company isn't its rating — it's 151. That's how many permitted projects BuildZoom counts for Complete Comfort Systems, against just twelve HomeAdvisor reviews averaging 4.6 and stretching all the way from 2012 to 2024. The permit trail, not the review count, is what shows how much work has actually gone through the door. The company works out of 230 Essex Street in Haverhill and says it has 24 years behind it. What people hired it for is bread-and-butter heating and cooling: central A/C installs and repairs, gas furnace and heating service, heat pumps, oil-to-gas conversions, and water heaters including on-demand units. The praise holds to one point across a decade — the crews turn up when they say they will. A 2024 five-star reviewer singled out a technician named Brent for arriving on time, explaining the job, and protecting the work area for cleanup. Back in 2015, a customer named the salesman who sold her a Lenox furnace and AC system and said the crew was on time and efficient. Two things are worth raising. In a 2020 two-star review, a customer said the technician forgot a measurement he needed, that it took another five days to take it, and that communication about timelines was nonexistent — the work itself was fine, the scheduling around it wasn't. A 2017 reviewer made a milder version of the same point: the company is busy, and there's a gap before you can get an appointment. BuildZoom lists an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration for the company, numbered 198534 and issued in May 2026, plus a Massachusetts plumbing business licence it marks as not verified. Those are the directory's records rather than confirmations, so check them yourself with Consumer Affairs before signing anything. If you're replacing a furnace or an A/C system rather than chasing a same-day emergency fix, this is a reasonable call — just pin down the timeline and who is ordering the parts before work starts.
Brent arrived on time, explained everything about the job, protected the work area for easy cleanup, was fast and friendly, a true professional. Excellent craftmanship. A job well done.
Excellent. Will hire them again.
The technician who performed the first part of our repair forgot to take a measurement he needed. This measurement was not taken for another 5 days. The part needed for the final part of the repair has not been ordered yet and likely will not arrive for another week. The work when it is done is fine but the communication about timelines is nonexistent.
