From the initial consultation to the final walk through, Dave, Kyle, and the whole team were very professional, courteous, and truly passionate about the quality of their work. The communication was excellent, and we always felt informed and involved throughout the whole process. Dave and Kyle were always honest and clear in communication and were very responsive with all our questions. We especially appreciated their ability to positively handle little unexpected challenges and their commitment to deliver outstanding results. Kyle always remained positive and showed great leadership and dedication to our project. The carpenters and the subs at Cortland were incredible as well, displaying their professionalism and craftsmanship that led to such beautiful results. We are very pleased with our renovation and we highly recommend the Cortland team!

We purchased a house last year that was built by Corland Builders about 3 years ago. I am continually impressed with the build quality. As an example, I pulled an outlet cover out to run some network cables and found that they had pre-run a flexible conduit between the outlet I was working in and another one 10 feet away. There was nothing in the conduit, installed purely for convenience for upgrades down the line. You don't see this attention to detail with all builders. I never worked directly with Cortland, but would not hesitate to use them for any projects down the line based on what I have seen over the last 6 months living in one of their homes!

In short: We are thrilled with how our four-season-room addition and deck turned out. The Cortland Builders team is knowledgeable, detail-oriented and really willing to go above and beyond for their clients. I will happily recommend Dave and team for future projects. Long review: Cortland Builders were recommended to us by a previous client. We wanted to demolish a large, old deck and build a bonus living space and smaller deck. I outlined my initial vision and Jess did a great job of not only listening to what we wanted but actually proposing a modified design that ended up significantly reducing the cost of the project. Dave walked us through all the various stages of the project and provided us with extensive guidance on how to maximize the design and utility of the space while keeping it within our price range, which was truly invaluable. Once the construction got going we met several other members of the team, all of whom were a pleasure to work with. Aside from being a skilled and hardworking team, they were courteous, friendly and willing to put up with the chaos of working around a house full of kids and pets in the middle of summer. As a project manager, Kyle is detail-oriented and easy to work with. He made sure all of the finishes were looking flawless inside and out and helped us with some of the more complex elements like figuring out the details of our fireplace surround. We are completely happy with how the project turned out and are so glad we chose to work with this team. From a budget perspective - we made some expansions to the project scope along the way and the additional costs were clearly articulated. There were no surprises as far as the billing was concerned. Lastly, in regards to going above and beyond: we recently had a bathroom plumbing leak where water was coming through our kitchen ceiling. I reached out to Kyle in a panic and he had someone from the Cortland team over to our house within MINUTES to help figure out what was going on and arranged for a plumber to come out asap. The next day Dave and Kyle were there to check out the damage and give us advice on next steps. The fact that they were willing to drop everything and help us with a problem that a) had nothing to do with the project we hired them for and b) was an issue that came up after the project was already completed was just above and beyond my expectations. It's so nice to work with people who care about their clients and we are so appreciative. Thanks again to the whole team at Cortland Builders!

I highly, highly recommend Dave, Kyle, and the entire team at Cortland Builders. Cortland recently completed a large interior renovation for us and we could not be happier. They came in on schedule and on-budget, with clear communication and updates along the way. Dave made some recommendations to the proposed work scope to limit structural impacts, which saved us thousands in additional engineering costs. They were more than welcome to accommodate some extra work that we added along the way, and were always clear with the cost and schedule impacts. The carpenters at Cortland and all of the subs were fantastic as well - from demo to electrical, plumbing and HVAC, everyone was professional, communicated clearly, and were easy to work with. I cannot recommend Cortland enough and look forward to working with them again on a future project in the next few months.
