Rental units are a good part of what Costa Quality Painting has been hired for. An August 2019 customer needed an apartment refinished at a reasonable price and got the whole unit repainted, some bathroom tile epoxy coated and old wood cabinets refinished. A month later another had two apartments and a hallway painted, with the hallway — in bad shape before — patched and fixed first. The company works out of Mansfield Street in Everett. Angi and HomeAdvisor both put it at 16 years in business with free estimates and a Spanish-speaking crew, at 4.8 stars across 26 ratings, and nine of the thirteen written accounts name Bernardo. One of them, in May 2019, came from a reviewer who said they had been in the trades 40 years and put Bernardo Costa in the top ten of everyone they had dealt with. Speed is what those accounts describe most. In March 2016 a customer left for work out of town on a Monday and got an email that afternoon saying the job — four bedrooms and two bathrooms — could be done Tuesday. In November 2017 someone got an appointment for the next day, and that day was a Sunday. A February 2018 reviewer called the process fast and easy at a good price, with a few extra requests handled along the way. In April 2020, the newest written account, a customer said the crew was responsive to their time frame and got in and out very clean. Two dents, both dated. A June 2017 reviewer said the hours ran over, though the job came in at the stated estimate and the crew came back to correct one surface that got the wrong color paint. And an April 2019 three-star review said simply that they don't return calls — the one complaint both platforms carry. So call twice if you have to. Settle the start date and the estimate in writing, and agree how to reach them before the job begins.
