Galvez Painting Corp.

Cracked plaster in an 1860s Boston condo that a stager needed ready for sale (March 2023). A bathroom ceiling flaking from humidity, with mildew over the shower (November 2025). A room and bathroom that had been smoked in — walls washed, a prime coat, then two coats (September 2023). The jobs homeowners describe for Galvez Painting tend to start with a surface that needs fixing before any paint goes on. The company works out of Everett, and Medardo Galvez is the owner customers name: interior and exterior painting for houses and businesses, along with drywall repair, deck and cabinet work, pressure washing and gutter cleaning. Google holds 60 ratings at 5.0, Thumbtack another 55, with a Top Pro badge from 2020. Once it starts, the work moves. A June 2026 reviewer got help with paint-color choices during the initial walkthrough and an estimate quickly after it. In a December 2025 review, a homeowner said the full exterior of the house plus a shed were painted in about a week, and that Medardo did light shingle and sheathing repair when he turned up unexpected rot. An April 2024 reviewer had a living room, dining room and kitchen done in one day. A June 2025 trim repaint took in the permits, the scaffolding and the windowsills that needed repair and glazing. Two things come up in the longer accounts. The crew cleans up when they finish — a Thumbtack reviewer in December 2025 called it a special touch, and Google reviewers in September 2025 and November 2024 said everything was cleaned up when the work was done. And they come back: an April 2023 reviewer said the team returned afterwards for additional touch-ups, and a July 2022 reviewer said touch-ups went on until the job was right. In November 2023, a couple who had not yet moved into their condo and were not around to oversee any of it said everything was done exactly to their specifications. What to settle at the estimate is the start date and the prep. A December 2025 customer said the painting began a couple of weeks after they hired him, and a July 2025 Thumbtack reviewer valued that Medardo asked about the unusual parts of the job instead of assuming what to do — so bring up the awkward surfaces then, not later. This is the call for a paint job where the wall is the problem: plaster cracks, moisture peeling, an exterior that needs scraping and a little carpentry along the way. One June 2026 reviewer has had the deck done twice, a bathroom and dining room, and this year the whole interior. Confirm the start window and what the prep covers before the first coat is quoted.
