In a March 2022 Google review, a homeowner described hiring Tommy from Coughlin Services to redo their kitchen with completely custom cabinets. They took three more quotes and still chose Tommy, finding his prices close to the others. The start date slipped slightly, there were a few delays on the backsplash tile and appliances (some of them, the homeowner said, their own fault), and apart from those details he finished in two months, with his staff there every day. The homeowner said they were saving up to do the bathroom next. Coughlin Service Corp. says it has been in business 50 years, describes its work as solving maintenance needs for facility owners, managers and homeowners, and lists a service area that includes Middletown, Cromwell, Berlin, Meriden, Hartford and New Haven. Connecticut's registry shows home improvement contractor registration HIC.0554630 as active, held by Coughlin Services Corporation. In a November 2025 Reddit comment on r/Connecticut, a commenter suggested giving the company a try and said it is in Middletown. In a May 2026 one-star Google review, a customer said they reached out twice by phone and once directly to a foreman; the calls went unanswered, and the foreman took their name and number, promised to call and never did. In an October 2025 one-star review, a driver described an employee in a company truck blocking traffic on Spring Street in Middletown and being rude. Google shows 3.4 stars from 5 ratings.
“You could give [Coughlin service corp](https://coughlinservicecorp.com/) a try. They're in middletown but I know they do some work down that way as well.”
Contracted twice via phone and once directly with a foreman. No response from them after the 2 calls. Foreman took my name and number. Promised to call, never did. If they responded responded, it could have led to a much larger project for a family member who wants a whole home renovation.
Had a run-in with a foul mouthed, rude and disrespecting employee in traffic, of his creating IN A COMPANY TRUCK today. I had no idea what his problem was but he started blocking traffic and wouldn't let anybody through on Spring Street in Middletown. Great way to represent the company; guys!!!!!!!!!!
Tommy from Coughlin Services was referred to me by Chris Soule from clean cut painting when I decided I wanted to redo my kitchen. I instantly felt like Tommy was the right person for the job, but went ahead and got 3 more quotes to be safe. My gut was still to go with Tommy. He was the most professional, seemed to be the most genuine, and prices were not much different than everyone else for completely custom cabinets. The project start date got delayed slightly, but once it started it went so quick. Minus a few details and delays in backsplash tile and appliances (some my fault bc it went so fast I didn’t have everything picked out), he mostly finished in 2 months. They were there every day and I felt totally comfortable leaving the house with any of his staff there. He did an amazing job and now I’m saving up to do the bathroom next! Clean Cut Painting did all the painting of the cabinets and were also great.
