County Craftsmen Construction is Thomas Bradley's one-man corporation, run from 78 Lake Shore Drive in East Weymouth, and its permit trail says roofing more than anything else. Seven permits are on file and most are strip-and-reroof jobs across the South Shore: Hanson in 2019, Holbrook in 2021, and a 2018 Hingham job that went deeper than shingles — rotted rafters and decking pulled out and replaced with new 2x10 framing and plywood before the asphalt went on. Two older commercial reroofs, in Hyannis in 2007 and South Yarmouth in 2006, were large jobs at 60 and 90 squares. A 2017 East Bridgewater permit covered roofing and siding, and a 2014 Hanover permit a patio door. The licensing picture takes reading. BuildZoom lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, 193518, issued in December 2025, and says it confirmed that one active in June 2026. It also carries three earlier registrations it marks inactive and at one point cancelled — two Massachusetts numbers and a Rhode Island residential contractor licence — plus a hoisting engineer licence whose last recorded expiry was August 2024. Those are the directory's own records rather than a state registry check, and older cancelled numbers are a normal artifact of re-registering, but they are worth asking about directly. BBB adds the corporate skeleton: incorporated in January 2013, one employee, not BBB accredited, and Not Rated because BBB says it does not have enough information. No customer has written about the work anywhere on file, which is the real gap here. If you need a roof or a re-side on the South Shore, the permit record shows the right kind of work, including structural repairs most roofers subcontract. Ask for the current registration number and insurance certificate, and for two or three recent addresses you can go and look at.
