Crescent Plumbing & Drain is an Arlington plumbing and drain company whose Google rating sits at 2.8 stars from 13 ratings, and three of its four written reviews, from 2022 to 2024, are one-star. Its BBB profile, which carries an A+, describes plumbing, water heater replacement, gas fitting, and drain cleaning including main sewer lines and water jetting, and names Kenneth C. Peura Jr. as the business's owner. The longest account is a December 2024 Google review of a $16,000 boiler replacement in Malden. The customer said the plumber pushed extra work outside the company for a "discount", that the office said it didn't know inspections were wanted until the City of Malden was ready to step in, and that afterward the bedroom radiators farthest from the boiler gave no heat. After several fixes suggested by phone failed, the customer said the plumber called them "ridiculous", said it wasn't their problem and hung up. In a December 2023 review, a customer asking about a vanity replacement said the company was ready to hang up with "Not interested" once they mentioned keeping the current faucet. A July 2022 home-warranty customer said the company claimed it had no paperwork and insulted them over the phone. The one five-star account, from August 2022, is also a home-warranty water heater job in Medford: told it was urgent, the company squeezed the customer in at 7 am the next morning and finished the same day. Elizabeth kept them updated, and Ken, who did the work, pointed out other work needing follow-up and took pictures of it. The Massachusetts journeyman plumber licence 23436-PL-J, held by Kenneth Peura, is expired on the state registry. The company's BBB page lists Master Plumber licence 12386, self-reported.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!! I had my boiler replaced by this company, and the experience has been beyond frustrating. Here’s what happened: 1. The plumber who came to do the work tried to pressure me into agreeing to unnecessary additional work outside of the company for a “discount.” Completely unprofessional. 2. When I contacted the company to ask when the work and inspections would be completed, they told me they didn’t even know I wanted inspections done! This delayed everything and only got resolved after the City of Malden was ready to intervene to ensure the required inspections were scheduled. But the worst part? I now have NO heat in my bedroom (the farthest radiators from the boiler): • The plumber suggested replacing all air vents—I did. No improvement. • I was then told to close all the air vents except for the ones in the bedroom—still no improvement. • Next, I was instructed to remove the vent from the bedroom radiator, which resulted in water gushing out of the vent hole. • Finally, I was told to ensure the radiator was leaning back toward the wall—it already was. When I asked why I didn’t at least have the same heat distribution as before the boiler replacement, the plumber told me I was being “ridiculous,” said it wasn’t their problem, and hung up on me. I paid $16,000 for this project, and now I’m stuck using a space heater in my bedroom. Worse, I can’t call anyone else to work on the boiler until spring. Avoid this company at all costs if you expect professionalism, follow-through, or basic respect. I am actively seeking legal advice and would strongly recommend finding someone else for your boiler or heating needs. This was a total disaster.
Extremely rude. Needed a vanity replaced and as soon as I mentioned considering keeping the current faucet, they were ready to hang up saying "Not interested".
I had a phenomenal experience with Crescent Plumbing & Drain. I had a water heater in Medford that needed to be replaced immediately. My home warranty company assigned it to Crescent. Their rates were the most competitive that I saw (as I also did my own research for competitive rates). They were available two days later but when I told them it was urgent, they squeezed me in the next morning at 7 am and completed the job the same day. I had a great experience. Elizabeth did a great job communicating with me and keeping me updated. She was very patient and generous with her time and addressed all my questions and concerns. Ken did the work, and while he was replacing the heater, he noticed some other work that required follow up soon and was kind enough to point it out and take pictures for my awareness. I’m grateful to have worked with this company and would definitely use them again. I highly recommend.
Assigned to a home warranty case to fix my water heater but claimed they had not received any paperwork. Then started insulting me over the phone. Typical lowlife contractors. They are also NOT open 24 hours, at 4:30pn on a weekday they claimed they were closed. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
