Sixteen of the eighteen Google reviews on file for this South Yarmouth pest-control shop are five stars, and the recurring theme is exactly what the name promises: a raccoon in the chimney, squirrels in the attic, rats under a deck. Reviewers keep naming the technician who showed up — John, Conor, Rus — rather than just thanking "the company." Per its BBB profile, the business has been around 26 years, working out of 1241 Route 28 in South Yarmouth as its own franchise — a separate operation from Critter Control's other Massachusetts locations. The detail in the reviews backs up hands-on work: a 2024 review describes John and Conor sealing every roofline, drip-edge, and soffit gap after a flying-squirrel infestation and installing a barrier to keep other animals out of the basement, and another 2024 review credits John with trapping a raccoon out of a shed quickly. Older reviews from 2022 describe Rus setting and clearing mouse traps and Paul walking a customer through their options before a job. Two things are worth asking about directly before booking. The most recent review on file, from July 2026, alleges the company said it doesn't place bait stations in homes with children, then had already been doing exactly that for six months, including in kids' bedrooms and the playroom. Separately, a 2022 review called the price outrageous and said the customer was never told whether the treatment actually worked. Both are specific, first-hand complaints rather than vague pans. Its BBB file shows an A+ letter grade, though the business itself is not BBB-accredited — two separate facts, not a contradiction. Google shows a 4.8-star badge from 57 total ratings, noticeably higher than what the 18 retrievable review bodies alone would suggest once the two complaints are weighed in; most of the ratings behind that badge carry no retrievable text. This looks like a solid call for a homeowner dealing with a specific nuisance-animal problem, where reviewers describe careful, detail-oriented trapping and sealing work. Given the recent bait-station complaint, it's worth confirming exactly where any bait or traps will be placed before work starts, especially in a house with kids.
The worst and I mean the WORST critter control company in this area hands down. Very unprofessional, inappropriate, and their communication skills are not there. They stated that they do not put bait stations inside of houses with children, 6 months after they had already been putting bait stations in my house that they knew were full of children. They came into all the children's rooms, playroom, and even encountered children multiple times. Then they tried to say the came to my house where there were children unattended on a day where my children were in camp?! Also they were calling the wrong number for im not sure how long. They did not want to do there job obviously. Never knocked on my door to see if anyone was actually home. They never did anything but charge obscene amounts of money for a service that they did not take professionally or do correctly. They treated my landlord like a check instead of finding solutions to make sure they did the job correctly and safely. They wouldn't even answer my landlord if the bait stations were working or if they worked. How do we know that this is legit if yhe techs dont even know if it works?! Im tired of being treated like just another check for a company instead of like a customer who asked for help. They didn't want to find solutions for my family, they wanted to silence me. Im sick and tired of mismanaged company's that take no responsibility for their actions and no accountability. Good luck Critter Control.
A very professional and courteous operation. These folks know what they're doing, and I am very pleased with the results. Like many businesses these days they are understaffed due to a tight labor market, but I can't fault them for that. They got to my job as quickly as they could. They have a very good reputation, which in my opinion is well deserved.
We had a raccoon living in our shed. John from critter control came out and trapped it in no time. What an absolute stud of a man. 5 stars all day!
Responsive service. Very pleasant people. This is the second time I've used Critter Control of Cape Cod's services, and I would use them again.
We had a racoon stuck in our wall and Critter Control was the only one that would come out and assess the situation and helped get the animal out. Unfortunately the little did not survive. Everyone else told me there was nothing they could do. I was very fortunate to find these guys. They very friendly and very helpful. I would call them again in a heartbeat.
