Critter Control of Greater Boston, a Waltham franchise, keeps squirrels, pigeons, sparrows and raccoons out from under rooftop solar panels with guards and mesh, alongside the usual attic and wall jobs. The company says it has offered wildlife control in Greater Boston since 2003, doing humane trapping, removal, exclusion and damage repair for raccoons, squirrels, bats, rodents and birds. Google shows 4.9 stars from 324 ratings and Angi 5.0 from 240. The recent solar jobs are specific. A July 2026 reviewer had squirrel guards installed on a solar array, with Howard giving the estimate and Ricardo doing the installation. In a March 2026 review, technicians installed bird spikes and pods on a roof and protective grates around solar panels to stop pigeons on a second-floor balcony. An April 2026 reviewer said the crew had to come out 4 times to keep sparrows out from under a garage solar array and did not charge extra for the additional labor. In a December 2025 review, Alex removed a squirrel nest and installed PVC-coated, galvanized steel mesh with a 5-year warranty, and another December 2025 reviewer described Howard trapping a trap-shy raccoon after it returned. Inside the house, a February 2026 reviewer had Howard out for a free inspection within days of a Monday-night contact form, and a January 2026 reviewer had Howard and his team deal with flying squirrels in the attic. The complaints are pointed. A November 2025 reviewer was quoted $6k for a critter in a bedroom wall, was charged before the work was done, heard the animal in the same spot two weeks later, and left at least 5 messages before reaching anyone. In a July 2025 review, a technician told a family that a man who woke with a bat in the room did not need rabies treatment. A September 2025 reviewer said the company refused to return over a payment dispute from 2021, and a May 2026 caller said the person who answered was rude and said they were not taking new customers. Two Google reviewers, in April 2026 and August 2025, complained about company drivers parking in bike lanes and the lane of travel.
They installed squirrel guards on our solar array. Howard was very knowledgeable and did a great job giving the estimate and explaining the process. Ricardo did an excellent inatallation. Everyone was great to work with.
I have had an annoying rodent problem for awhile because my neighbor has piles of debris in his yard. Other companies have not been able to help stop it, not until I called Critter Control. I was having a problem with birds nesting above my deck and grilling area (high above), Critter Control installed mesh netting around the downspouts to prevent birds nesting. So far this has worked! I hope I don’t have to, but if the need arises, I will definitely use Critter Control again in the future.
Had a pigeon problem. Dan came right out and gave me an estimate. My deck was being destroyed with pigeon excrement. Dan employed a system that completely eliminated the problem. Thanks Dan. Outstanding job!
