Critter Control of Greater Boston, based in Waltham, is the call when something's living somewhere it shouldn't — squirrels in the attic, raccoons under the deck, pigeons over the patio, a bat in a bedroom wall. Across 324 Google ratings and 240 on Angi, the average sits at 4.9 and 5.0, and the specific jobs behind those numbers repeat a familiar shape: a technician shows up quickly, traps or seals the entry point, and the animal doesn't come back. The write-ups keep naming the same handful of people. Howard, Craig, Adam and Jairo turn up across dozens of jobs, from squirrel guards bolted onto solar arrays to a family of raccoons cleared from a garage. In a 2024 review, one customer described seven raccoons trapped in a dumpster resolved within an hour of the call; in a 2025 review, another credited Craig with tracking a squirrel's entry point in a 90-year-old house's siding within days. Several customers who say they've used the company for years — one for at least a decade, moving between squirrels in the attic and a large rat problem — describe the owner, Dan Master, as staying personally involved when a job needs it. Not every account is clean. A caller in a May 2026 review says whoever answered the phone was curt, said the company wasn't taking new customers, and hung up. In a September 2025 review, a customer describes being refused a return visit over a 2021 payment dispute — despite the company having come back for the same issue in 2023 without trouble — and called that call's customer service rude. A July 2025 review disputes advice a technician reportedly gave about bat exposure and rabies risk, saying it contradicted CDC guidance. Separately, two reviews — one from August 2025, one from April 2026, neither about a pest job — report the company's vans parked illegally, blocking sidewalks and bike lanes. Anyone booking wildlife work here is likely to get it resolved — the volume and repetition of cleared squirrel, raccoon, pigeon and bat cases back that up. Worth asking about upfront: how the company handles a tricky or recurring case, and confirming any past account history is settled before assuming an old dispute won't resurface.
They installed squirrel guards on our solar array. Howard was very knowledgeable and did a great job giving the estimate and explaining the process. Ricardo did an excellent inatallation. Everyone was great to work with.
I have had an annoying rodent problem for awhile because my neighbor has piles of debris in his yard. Other companies have not been able to help stop it, not until I called Critter Control. They have skilled technicians and their service and methods of stopping mice infestations are excellent. Thank you Critter Control. RMP, Waltham
I was having a problem with birds nesting above my deck and grilling area (high above), Critter Control installed mesh netting around the downspouts to prevent birds nesting. So far this has worked! I hope I don’t have to, but if the need arises, I will definitely use Critter Control again in the future.
Had a pigeon problem. Dan came right out and gave me an estimate. My deck was being destroyed with pigeon excrement. Dan employed a system that completely eliminated the problem. Thanks Dan. Outstanding job!
Craig came out and was informative, courteous, and professional. He explained the issues we were having in a way that I could understand and recommended treatments and interventions that are known to be effective.
