In an August 2016 review, a man who had spent years as a carpenter and remodeler himself wrote that Custom Crafted Homes' work stopped him mid-thought: "I couldn't have done a better job myself." That is the register of praise this South Dennis builder collects. Jeff Baroni runs it as the second generation of a family business the company says began as a Cape Cod framing crew in 1974, and it covers the Cape towns from Bourne out to Wellfleet. Most of what customers describe is carpentry, much of it outside the house. A June 2025 reviewer had a deck and railing brought back to like-new condition, with the same care taken in the courtyard. An August 2017 customer had the outside trim replaced on their house; in an August 2015 account, replacing the trim on a Brewster home took numerous staging platforms to reach. Decks come up again and again — one October 2015 reviewer had a rear deck torn down and a 12-by-22 four-season addition built in its place, at what they called fair pricing, and an August 2016 customer figured their new deck would outlast them. The bigger jobs are there too. A January 2020 customer came looking for someone to replace all the doors and windows in an older home after a first contractor did substandard work and ran six months behind. A July 2017 customer put a whole Cape house through a total renovation — walls opened up, new flooring throughout, a full kitchen demolition and replacement, new insulation. Another that month had a complete condominium renovation done and said the other owners in the building noticed how the crew conducted itself on site. Customers name the crew, not just the boss: German, Kyle, Rob and Chris all appear by name, and three reviewers between 2016 and 2020 mention coming back for more projects. Two things to square before signing. The company's site says it is BBB Accredited, while the Better Business Bureau's own page grades it A+ and lists it as not accredited — ask about that. The history does not line up either: the site counts 50 years from a 1974 start, BBB has the business since 2000, and Angi's profile reports 26 years of experience. Angi lists Massachusetts trade licence #169552, and the site says the company carries a Massachusetts construction supervisor licence and a home improvement contractor registration; get those numbers on the contract. The written accounts run from 2015 to 2025 and are thickest in the 2015–2020 stretch.
