D.C. Kaufman Electrical has been doing electrical work out of the Waltham/Newtonville area for a long stretch — the Better Business Bureau, which lists the company as an Accredited Business with an A+ rating, puts it at 26 years; the company's own website says 28. Either way, the reviews span from 2018 through this year, and the throughline across nearly all twenty on file is the same: on time, cleaned up, and thorough. The specifics are what stand out. In a 2023 review, a homeowner describes calling Dave in after a storm knocked down a utility pole and left them without power for four days — the crew was out within a couple hours to re-run the underground wiring, communicating clearly with the homeowner's spouse while she managed things solo. A late-2024 review describes a major EV-charger and heat-pump electrical upgrade where Dave worked patiently through several design options before the crew finished on time. Another, from a fellow electrical contractor, describes hiring Kaufman to repair a damaged radiant floor heat system — they 'had all the best tools for this type of repair' and left the floor and surroundings protected throughout. Several reviewers have used the company repeatedly: one says they've called on D.C. Kaufman for more than a decade across both a personal home and rental properties, and another mentions this being their third job with the crew, a one-hour fix for a flickering kitchen switch and a dead outdoor floodlight. Office manager Marisa comes up by name in a couple of reviews for handling scheduling and billing promptly. The only real friction, and it's minor: two older Angi reviews from 2018 note the pricing runs higher than average — one calls out a $150/hr rate — though both reviewers still rated the work itself positively. Angi's profile also lists a self-reported trade license number that hasn't been independently verified. For anything from a routine repair to a bigger electrical upgrade tied to an EV charger or heat pump conversion, this is a crew with a long, well-documented history in the area — budget for a rate on the higher end of the market.
Great service. The electrician was on time, very pleasant and polite. Suggested ways I could save money and did the work quickly and efficiently. I have used them before and will continue to use and recommend them in the future.
Very good work. I have now used them several times and will again. They were pleasant and cleaned up after themselves. I felt very satisfied with the job.
Excellent service, very knowledgeable and great experience. Would highly refer and will definitely work with their team again.
Great company, I am also an electrical contractor and we had to hire them to repair a damaged electric radiant floor heat we had installed. The 2 guys showed up on time, very professional, had all the best tools for this type of repair, and did a great job. They both took great care in the protection of the floor and surroundings They only had to remove a very small amount of tile, made a very nice and professional repair and completely cleaned up there mess. We are very happy with the service and would recommend them to anyone wit this issue.
We contacted D.C. Kaufman to do a major electrical upgrade to provide for a new EV charger and conversion to heat pumps. Dave was very accommodating and patient with the many design options we were suggesting. The installation crew was excellent, the job was done on time and in a professional manner. We highly recommend and would use again.
