The Better Business Bureau gives the business an A+ grade, though it hasn't pursued formal BBB accreditation — not unusual on its own, and not a mark against it. Angi's listing separately states the business doesn't offer emergency service or free estimates, which is worth confirming directly if either matters for your job. For routine electrical work — a panel upgrade, an EV charger, security wiring — years of steady, name-checked praise for one electrician is a reasonable signal to go on, even from a modest number of reviews. Just get the specifics on how long they've actually been operating, and what after-hours coverage looks like, before booking.

I called Smart Electrical and spoke with Dan late evening on Christmas day. Our power mast had broken away from our house during the high winds. Dan came out early the next morning and and spent over two hours installing a new mast during freezing cold temperatures. Dan showed me the repair and explained what he had to do. He's very courteous and pleasant. I would definitely use Dan at Smart Electrical in Waltham for my future electrical needs. Highly recommend!!! Paula & Greg in Waltham

Dan Virtan of Smart Electrical installed a 220V circuit for our new electric car charger. He was able to schedule this very quickly, and he explained things clearly and carefully, He also arranged for the electrical inspection from our town. And . . . he helped us with the rebate process from MassSave, which ended up reimbursing us for the cost of the new car charging system! This was great. Fast and efficient and fairly priced. Smart Electric was great to work with, and we highly recommend them.
