D Condron Construction is a Lanesborough excavation contractor working across Berkshire County — its own site advertises excavation and land clearing, concrete, septic systems, underground utilities, paving and snow removal, and describes the business as family-owned. The most important thing on this profile is not a review. In February 2026 the owner, Dennis Condron, pleaded guilty in federal court to four counts of tax fraud; prosecutors said he ran the scheme through this business, hiding more than half a million dollars in customer checks by cashing them and diverting them to personal accounts over a three-year period, so that his tax returns understated the business's income. Sentencing was set for May 2026. The customer reviews on file are a mixed but mostly positive handful. A June 2026 reviewer called the Condron crew the most thoughtful and reliable contracting team they had worked with anywhere in the country. A 2024 customer described a driveway job done carefully where it met a stone foundation on one side and a neighbour's lawn on the other, with the detail work coming out well. The sharpest complaint is about snow work rather than construction: a 2023 reviewer in New Ashford said the plow operator made a single pass, disappeared once residents moved their cars, and swore at people, including using a slur. Before hiring, ask directly which registration is current. BuildZoom lists four Massachusetts records against this business — two Home Improvement Contractor numbers it says it verified as active, plus an older HIC number and a Construction Supervisor licence it says were listed cancelled at some point — and none of those is confirmed against the state registry here. Confirm the licence, and the standing of the business itself, with the state before you sign anything or hand over a deposit.
“Federal prosecutors said Condron ran the scheme through his business, D Condron Construction, while doing work in Berkshire County.”
“Over a three-year period, in addition to depositing customer payments to his company, D Condron Construction, Condron hid over half a million dollars in customer checks by cashing them and diverting them to his personal accounts, resulting in tax returns that underreported the gross receipts of the business by hundreds of thousands of dollars; he was sentenced to one year of probation, a $40,000 fine and over $200,000 in restitution.”
The Condron crew is the most thoughtful and reliable contracting team we have worked with around the country. They complete the work properly the first time and are always available to help when needed for further assistance. I highly recommend!
They did a great job on our driveway. I had some concerns with our driveway butting against our stone foundation and the neighbors grass on the other side. They were able to accommodate both situations without damaging foundation or upsetting the neighbors. All the detail work looks better than we expected. We are super happy with how well everything looks and came out!
They are great. The yard guy and office girls were very helpful
There plow guy for new Ashford mass is absolutely horrible he comes and does one swipe down and sees everyone come out to move the cars so he can finish and just disappears and don't come back So when u try and move while he's out there he starts swearing and calling people retards
