The thing to settle before hiring them for anything larger is registration. BuildZoom shows two Massachusetts home improvement contractor records for the company, #109179 and #160267, both marked inactive and described as having been cancelled at some point, with #109179 carrying an expiration of September 2002. BuildZoom's licence data is the directory's own compilation and it is visibly unreliable here — it duplicates #160267 as two separate entries and calls #109179 a general contractor licence in one place and a home improvement registration in another. None of that was confirmed against the state, and it matters more than usual because a company doing kitchens, bathrooms, additions and siding is not covered by the Massachusetts exemptions for landscaping, fencing, roofing or interior-painting-only work. Ask them directly for a current registration number and check it with the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation yourself. The BBB grade is A+, though the same page states the business is not BBB accredited. Their Angi and HomeAdvisor pages are the same listing twice and carry no reviews at all, so Thumbtack is effectively the whole customer record. Good call for gutter cleaning and exterior maintenance on the strength of what people actually describe. For a remodel or an addition, get the registration and a written scope in hand first.
