Seven years ago a Methuen homeowner had two sliding glass doors sitting on a rotted sill. In a January 2019 review, they described what Dan Reitano did about it: sectioned out the rotten wood, replaced it, pulled the doors, rebuilt the wall, and set two horizontal sliding windows in their place. Then he kept coming back — stair treads, a storm door, a porch, a bedroom. That one account captures this business better than any service list. It isn't one trade. It's whatever the house needs, done by the same guy. Dan Reitano Home Improvements works out of Prospect Street in Methuen. The BBB lists it as incorporated in 2018 with one employee, owned by Dan Reitano and Tammy Leocata, and grades it A+ without accreditation. The company says Dan came up through the Building Trades program at Salem High School and that he and Tammy combined their skills in 2009. Kitchens, bathrooms, basements, flooring, decks, siding and porch enclosures across the Merrimack Valley and into southern New Hampshire — that's the stated range, and its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. What people who hired them write is consistent, and oddly specific about the small things. On Google, where it holds 5 stars from six ratings, three reviewers writing in April 2025 land on the same two points: the work moved fast, and updates came from both Dan and Tammy. A homeowner writing in June 2025 said Dan had done a variety of jobs for them over the past year since they moved in. The older accounts run the same way — a June 2019 reviewer had siding replaced three stories up, on time and reasonably priced; that October, another described a bathroom remodel down to the tiled shower stall. Two things about that history are worth naming before you call. Angi's nine reviews and HomeAdvisor's nine reviews are the same nine — the two sites syndicate — so 4.9 out of 9 shows up twice but happened once, and every one of them was written between January 2019 and January 2020. And the newest written account anywhere is June 2025. The written history is real, dated, and positive; it just isn't fresh. The one rating out of step sits on BuildZoom: 3 of 5 stars from a single 2017 review, next to a permit history of 70 recorded projects, only three of them in the past three years and most in the $5,000–$50,000 range. That page also flags "no active license on file," which the state registry contradicts — HIC 190480 is active. The company's own site additionally lists a construction supervisor number, CS-037887, which is its claim rather than anything verified. The right call for a Merrimack Valley homeowner who wants one person accountable for a mid-sized job — a bathroom, siding, rot that spread further than anyone expected. With a single employee on the books, pin down scheduling and crew size before a large project, and confirm that CS number directly if your job requires a construction supervisor.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dan Reitano several times over the past year since moving into my home, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. He’s done a variety of jobs for me and each time, his work has been solid, efficient, and done with care. What really sealed the deal for me was learning that Dan was the one who remodeled the kitchen in this house before I bought it. I absolutely love the space—it’s both beautiful and incredibly functional—and now I understand why. His craftsmanship and attention to detail shine through in everything he does. Dan is reliable, skilled, and clearly takes pride in his work. I’m so grateful to have found someone I trust with my home.

Dan and Tammy are awesome to work with. We had to replace a farmer's porch and it came out beautiful. Tammy and Dan keep you updated and are so responsive. Will definitely use Dan again for future projects.

Dan completed a few projects at my house. He was quick, courteous, and the work was high quality. I received excellent communication from both Dan and Tammy. I had to coordinate with another contractor to complete the job, Dan was very accommodating. I would love to have Dan Reitano Home Improvements back to do more work for me. Excellent quality work, excellent customer service, and a fair price.
