One job in Dan Naylor's permit history is nothing but correcting wiring another contractor left behind — which is a fair summary of what he gets called for. Across 20 permitted projects, seven of them in the past three years, the work runs 100-amp to 200-amp service upgrades, knob-and-tube removal, panels and sub-panels, recessed and under-cabinet lighting, kitchen and bath renovation wiring, in-law and addition circuits, and GFCI work. He lists himself as sole owner at 15 Maple Ave, and his Angi profile claims eight years in the trade. The written accounts are uniformly favorable — 5.0 across eight reviews — but check the dates before the average. Five of the eight sit in one cluster from February 2018; they are still real and specific, with one homeowner that month describing six recessed lights and a bath exhaust fan installed for $1,200, and another paying $125 for switch and outlet work. The three newer ones carry more weight: in July 2026 a customer described a written bid laying out options, then Dan and a helper replacing and upgrading five outlets and running three new circuits in about half a day; in March 2026 another had two bathroom fans replaced; and a June 2025 ceiling fan install drew praise for how the work was explained. Two things are worth sorting out before you call. The address doesn't agree across sources — Angi lists 15 Maple Avenue in Chelmsford, BuildZoom lists 15 Maple Ave in Methuen — so confirm where he's based and whether your town is in range. And the licensing picture on those pages is muddled: BuildZoom shows Massachusetts electrician license #22877 as active under its own badge, while the same page also asserts that this contractor does not need a license to work as an electrician in Massachusetts, which is wrong — the state licenses electricians through the Board of State Examiners of Electricians. Neither Angi nor HomeAdvisor publishes a number, and both say their license and insurance statements are self-reported. One more thing to keep the numbers straight: the HomeAdvisor page is a byte-identical mirror of the Angi profile, down to the same profile id and the same eight review authors in the same order. The true count is eight, not sixteen. For a service upgrade, a panel swap, or clearing knob-and-tube out of an older house, the permitted work is exactly the right shape. Ask for the license number and verify it with the state before booking.
