David Bacon Electric is a one-person electrical outfit working out of Medford, Massachusetts, and the calls that land it work tend to be the everyday kind โ swapping out old switches, running new outlets, chasing down a lighting problem that flickers when it shouldn't. The story that stands out from customers who hired him is a corrosion diagnosis: National Grid had told one customer a bad meter was to blame for a lost phase, but David traced it to corroded connections National Grid's own crew hadn't caught, and fixed the actual problem instead of the easy one. That same instinct for finding the real issue โ quick response, no pressure to buy, quotes that stay put once given โ comes up across several of his reviews on switch, dimmer, and outlet jobs. On Thumbtack, where his 17 ratings average 4.6 stars, 88% are five stars against a single one-star rating; the reviews shown don't say what that lower rating was about. Thumbtack also lists a journeyman electrician license for him in Massachusetts, though that's the directory's own listing rather than something checked against the state registry. For straightforward residential electrical work โ outlet and switch swaps, lighting fixes, panel and breaker jobs โ the reviews describe a responsive, careful electrician who shows up when he says he will and doesn't pad the bill. Worth confirming licensing and insurance directly before booking, and expect a solo operator rather than a crew.
David was great to work with. We lost power on one phase and National Grid said we just needed a meter replacement, but that wasn't actually the problem. David found corrosion on the connections that National Grid missed, and he fixed it right instead of just doing the easy thing. He's honest, he has integrity, and he really went above and beyond. He didn't just do the repair, he actually explained what was going on and helped us push back on National Grid, who honestly gave us a really hard time through this whole thing. If you need an electrician, especially if you're dealing with a utility company that isn't giving you straight answers, David is who you want. Highly recommend him and wish him the best with his business.
Dave was outstanding! He arrived right on time, installed several outlets quickly and professionally, and his workmanship was excellent. He was courteous, efficient, and left everything spotless when he finished. It's hard to find someone this reliable and detail-oriented. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Dave again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled, honest electrician on Thumbtack.
David responded to my request immediately and made arrangements to come to our home the next day to complete the work. He changed out three old light switches and installed some new dimmers. Great work in a timely manner and a fair price.
I hired David due to some lighting and electrical issues in my bathroom. David was quick to respond, responsive through out the duration of the job, and punctual. He quickly assessed the issues and made recommendation for fixes. He provided a quote that didn't randomly change and gave me to best of the best without breaking my bank. The work quality is a 10/10 and so was the value and professionalism. He was easy to speak with, great demeanor, and polite. Not only would I hire him again but would recommend him for other jobs to friends and family.
He was diligent and focused, carrying out his work in a thoroughly professional manner. Rather than simply trying to make a deal for his business, he set out to solve the problem. Even though I never pressured him, he came to my home right away despite having to travel from far away. There are several things I truly appreciate about how he worked. He clearly understood what needed to be done, and he prioritized that over any concern for profit. That approach helped us find the best solution from the very start. When the right parts weren't available near the local Home Depot, he made a long trip to track them down โ and that meant a great deal, since no one wants to see a repair delayed. I found myself trusting his way of thinking. He carefully considers each next step before acting, which helps minimize any chance of a mistake. I doubt many other experienced professionals could have diagnosed the problem the way he did, especially given how young he is โ and he's quite handsome, too. I would be more than happy to call on his services again whenever I have an electrical problem. Once more, thank you for his honesty and integrity.
