Dave McDonald's customers call him by his first name. David C McDonald Company holds a 5★ average across 12 Google ratings, all of its written reviews date from June and July 2026, and its own site presents it as a Boston home-services business covering handyman work, landscaping, masonry and stone work, hardscaping, drywall repair, assembly and childproofing. Yard work is the bulk of what customers describe: landscaping the front beds and the area under a tree, pruning, mulching, leaf and debris clean-up, weed whacking, lawn cutting, trimming and edging. Stone work comes up as well. One customer had a yard clean-up done along with a paver patio, another praised the stone work alongside a landscaping job, and a customer with houses in Weymouth and Braintree, who works as a contractor, said McDonald has handled garden, masonry and carpentry work at their home, adding that he "doesn't Rush at anything." One customer said Dave did an excellent job moving around a crowded house, working with a second carpenter, Dave J, and has made plans to replace a window and do more work in the fall. Clean-up and price come up more than once: a repeat customer said the premises is "cleaned immaculately" when a job is finished and called the price point great, and others mention reasonable prices and a great price for lawn cutting.
Dave landscaped the front beds of our house and under our tree. Excellent communication, price, and reliability. He went up and above! I would hire Dave again, no questions asked.
I had a great experience with Dave. He did an excellent job pruning, mulching, cleaning up the yard, blowing away all the leaves and debris, and weed whacking. He was professional, hard working and paid close attention to detail. Dave's work exceeded my expectation, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone for reliable, high-quality landscaping services!
Dave did an excellent job, especially moving around a crowded house. He an another carpenter named Dave J was as professional as Dave McD. Have made plans to replace a window, along with future work in the fall.
