When Lowell residents trade plumber names on Reddit, David Murphy comes up. In a February 2026 r/LowellMA thread, one commenter listed him among three good ones they had used extensively with good experiences, and others said they use him for plumbing or had good luck with him. The company says it has served Lowell since 1983, doing plumbing, heating and gas fitting for homeowners, property managers, builders and commercial properties across the Merrimack Valley. David Murphy's Massachusetts plumber license (9723-PL-M) is active on the state registry. The BBB rates the business A+, though it is not BBB accredited. In April 2025, one Reddit commenter said they call Dave Murphy Plumbing whenever they have a plumbing issue in their old house and called it reasonably priced. Two days later, another said they were quoted $530 by Murphy and paid another plumber $185. A complaint on the company's BBB page describes a terrible experience with a heating system and hot water heater the company installed.
