DeLeo Mechanical Services

DeLeo Mechanical Services is a North Chelmsford heating-and-cooling outfit run by Alfred and Michael Deleo, with a permit trail that runs deeper than its review count suggests: 57 permitted jobs across Massachusetts towns since 2014. Porch's profile describes the company as having worked in heating and cooling for over 11 years, covering boiler installs, duct cleaning, and air-and-water balancing. The town-hall record tells more of the story than the ratings do. Sheet-metal and HVAC work — gas furnaces, central air, heat pumps, ductwork — filled a 2014-2020 stretch in Newton-area towns, then plumbing and gas permits took over from 2020 to 2024, with multi-fixture water piping and water heater installs in Needham, Hingham, Arlington and Brookline. On the customer side there's a single written account: a 2017 Angi review on a roughly $4,500 job called the crew hard to reach but quick and tidy once on site, with a good price and results better than expected. Its Massachusetts sheet-metal license shows up on BuildZoom as inactive, with the listing noting the status was cancelled at one point — worth confirming directly before signing anything. Angi's own FAQ for the company also states it doesn't offer free estimates, emergency calls, or written warranties. A homeowner weighing a furnace, boiler, or gas-piping job is looking at a company with a real permit history behind it rather than a stack of reviews; just verify the license and get scope and price in writing up front, since there's no free-estimate policy to lean on.
