Delta Design & Construction was a Medford design-build and general contracting firm that, in the late 2000s, built a track record on notable commercial and institutional work: a restaurant fit-out on Boylston Street, a visual arts center at the Brimmer and May School in Chestnut Hill, an addition and gymnasium at Oak Meadow Montessori School in Littleton, and a renovation of the Timken Recital Hall at Phillips Academy. Several staff, including a project manager and a superintendent, earned LEED accreditation around the same period. That history is a decade removed from the company's more recent record. Google shows just two ratings, both one star, and both are subcontractors describing the same problem: getting stiffed. BuildZoom also shows zero customer reviews and no recent activity beyond a historical count of 24 permitted projects. A Massachusetts bankruptcy court record separately lists the company as a debtor at its Medford address. Given the gap between the commercial project list and the current picture - an expired license, unpaid-subcontractor complaints, and a bankruptcy filing on record - this isn't a business to hire on the strength of old projects alone. Confirm the company is still operating and licensed before signing anything, and ask directly how subcontractors and suppliers on the job get paid.
