A household that lost its water on a Monday had a new well, tank, and pump by Thursday afternoon, according to an August 2026 Google review of Desmond Well Drilling. The customer said the company treated it as an emergency, assessed the problem Tuesday, completed town paperwork Wednesday, and drilled and installed Thursday. They reported more water and better water quality afterward. Based in Orleans, Desmond describes itself as a family-owned water well contractor serving Cape Cod, the Islands, and Southeastern Massachusetts since 1979. Its website says it drills domestic, irrigation, and geothermal wells and services pumps and tanks. Its Cape Cod Test Boring division performs environmental test borings and monitoring well installation. BBB gives the business an A+ grade. In an August 2025 review, a customer who had an irrigation well installed praised communication, punctual arrivals, and a clean, organized work area. A June 2024 reviewer described intermittent water from a 20-year-old well: Michelle arranged a visit within a few days, and Sean explained the problem before replacing the pump, hoses, and fixtures. That customer considered the charges reasonable. A July 2025 reviewer also reported that a crew arrived and resolved a leaking pipe at their retail store within four hours of the morning call. An October 2023 homeowner described a pump seized in its shaft and choosing a new well after Tommy explained the alternatives. After approval on a Thursday, the company obtained an emergency permit and started Monday. The homeowner described a two-day job, a roughly 130-foot well in rocky ground, and a bill a few hundred dollars below the estimate. A May 2023 Google reviewer had a different experience with a replacement well pump. They said the new pump had half the power of the original, cost $2,500, and never supplied enough pressure for their irrigation areas.
