Mass Save runs through DiPietro's reviews from both directions. The Haverhill HVAC and plumbing company shows up at the end of the state's energy program — heat pumps and boilers going in, houses converting off oil, and the loan-and-rebate paperwork that trails all of it — and homeowners who came in that way wrote both five-star installs and one-star service calls. BBB lists the company as accredited, A+, and 18 years in business; BuildZoom counts 875 permitted projects and scores it in the top 12% of Massachusetts contractors. The written accounts run 2015 to 2025, and thirteen of the nineteen were posted between 2015 and 2017. Every five-star review sits in that stretch, and they are about installs. A 2017 Houzz reviewer described a whole-house switch from electric heat and hot water to gas — baseboards, gas lines run from outside, exhaust venting and intake — and waited a few months to write it up in case of glitches. In another 2016 review, a boiler died on Christmas Day; a technician came right out, and when it turned out not to be repairable the crew replaced the system the next day. An energy advisor with Mass Save wrote in 2016 that they had often referred customers to DiPietro — a fair quote at intake, then the install — and that the company knows the program. The complaints are about what happens after the diagnosis. Three one-star accounts from 2015 and 2016 say a promised call never came: in May 2015 a technician said the furnace needed a new motor and the office was to ring back within the hour with a price; in February 2016 the office was to call the next day after checking with Joe, and the customer called again a week later; an October 2016 Angi review reproduced a letter sent 6/21/16 that no one answered, calling the experience stressful and horrible. On HomeAdvisor's profile the recurring complaints are missed callbacks and delayed parts, alongside praise for thorough work. A January 2019 Angi review opens "DO NOT USE!" over an oil-to-propane conversion it calls a horrible experience in April 2018. Both 2025 Houzz reviews are one-star: in January a customer credited the Revise Energy salesperson and marked the turn at "once I crossed over to service"; in April another said mini-split heat pumps installed about a year earlier through Mass Save had stopped putting out heat, and that they were told there was a refrigerant leak. Two things to settle before booking. Charges: a November 2015 reviewer who otherwise credited the technicians with sorting out NEST thermostat trouble advised making sure you get a full explanation of any potential charges. And the callback — who rings you, and when, once a part has to be ordered or a price quoted; a February 2017 customer dropped to three stars after the first scheduled technician never arrived. For a Mass Save install — a heat pump, a boiler swap, a fuel conversion — DiPietro has done that work at volume and knows the rebate paperwork. Get the follow-up path and the charges spelled out in writing before the crew is booked.

If I could give a ZERO, I would!!! We had mini-split heat pumps installed by Dipietro about a year ago through the Mass Save Program. Recently, we noticed that there was no heat coming from them. We called for service and were told that we had a refrigerant leak that had likely been occurring over several months. The technician who came out said he had to talk to "the hire-ups" in the company, but he felt it should be covered under warranty. We received a call back from a manager and were informed that it costs $4,800 to come out and check the system, but they would make a deal with us and charge us $3,000. This is unbelievable! We would understand if the system were several years old, but that is NOT the case. Buyer beware, you should stay far away from this company.
I took my time and gave this company multiple chances to come around just because I had a great experience working with their (Revise Energy) Sales person, Adam, who seemed extremely knowledgeable and had great customer service skills. But, once I crossed over to service - DiPietro- the experience was extremely disappointing. They did an oil to gas conversion and a tankless/instant system install. 2 years down the road, the totally new super top of the line gas furnace was all rusted inside which caused further issues with the starter (or something similar- priced over 600 to fix) and just flooding the finished basement (lots of replacing of floor and subfloors). Not to say that the system itself is loosing a lot of air as it was not taped correctly despite my multiple calls for them to fix and assurance I have received multiple times that ‘it’s all good now!’. Also, despite all the business I have been given them (even if I shouldn’t considering they caused these issues due to bad installs), when I was in need, they didn’t even offer the slightest discount for a service call (it was 300 dollars to restart the system just so that we had the system stopping again because the tech didn’t even complete all the resets and pump for water shut down and turn off the system completely again in some hours - another crises at our end that - this time we troubleshoot on our own as the tech didn’t even respond to texts for a while). Just save urself time, stress and $ and avoid servicing with this company
DO NOT USE! I have never experienced such horrible customer service. We were suggested to use them when going through the Mass Save program for a new heating system. We decided to convert from oil to propane and the installation was a horrible experience in April 2018. They tried to bait and switch us by not installing the way we agreed and tried to make us incur additional costs beyond what we agreed and took a loan out for. They never came back to fix our lawn that they damaged during the installation process. Fast forward to today, less than a year with their system - i have called their emergency service line 5 times from 6PM on and never once received a call back. I have now called 5 times since they have been open starting at 7AM and still have no resolution. Our house is without heat, prior to a storm and the best they told us was to buy space heaters and wait for the part in the mail. I have not been able to speak with a supervisor, they have not sent anyone here to check the system, and will not return my calls. I am SO disappointed and truly hope future customers steer clear!!! Heating systems costs a small fortune, we should all expect better service of these systems once installed and have a reliable company to call upon after such an investment. Horrible service, horrible products.
WE went from all electric heating and hot water to gas. Waited a few months to rite this in case there were any glitches.. Dipietro Heating did a great job installing an entire gas heating system to our house!!!! Baseboards, Gas lines from the outside, exhaust venting and intake. I mean the whole thing,,, In just one week... Phenominal!!!!! With only a few ceiling tiles scratched in basement..
Scheduling was challenging. On the first attempt, the service guy never arrived. When I called, the scheduler said there was some computer error, apologized, and rescheduled. On the second attempt, the guy came and did the service, then recommended having the expansion tank replaced. I was supposed to get a call to schedule the follow-up service, but never did. I called a few times and left a message, eventually getting a callback from someone who was able to schedule the service. Once again, the first attempt was a flop. They sent out a heating technician, not a plumber, to replace the expansion tank, which he was not certified to do...and he arrived late. On the second attempt, the plumber arrived on-time. He was very professional, efficient, and did great quality work.
