Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Dixon Electric. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.

Matt Dixon answers fast. A customer writing in August 2025 said he replied within minutes of the job being posted and was standing at the house at the agreed time. Another that month had wall lights realigned in two bathrooms and a back-lit mirror disconnected, and noted a steady pace and clear communication throughout. The work described sits at the small-job end of the trade: a bathroom exhaust fan fitted where there was no existing fixture, a stair circuit with two lamps, two switches and a dimmer traced and put right, general fault-finding. In a November 2025 review a customer said he looked at a couple of extra electrical issues while he was there, at no increase in cost. The business is young and the paperwork is thin but clean. Thumbtack lists it as two years old and one person, hired 65 times, with a Massachusetts journeyman electrician licence the platform has verified, a background check passed by Matthew Dixon in November 2024, and 2025 Top Pro status — though the About text separately claims 15 years in the trade. Its rating there is 4.9 across 43 ratings: 98% five-star, with one rating at one star. Pricing is published up front — $180 for the diagnostic call, $125 an hour after that. Two things to note before you plan around him: everything written about this business sits on that single platform, and the profile currently shows him as not available for electrical and wiring repair. A sensible call for small residential jobs — fixtures, fans, switches, a circuit that has stopped working — if you can get on the schedule.
Matt was on time and jumped right in. Understood what I wanted and did a great job. I asked him to look at a couple other electrical issues and he did-with no increase in cost. I am definitely going to use him again!
I have been in desperate need of a bathroom fan for some time now. Matt was extremely responsive and communicated quickly throughout the process. Installation was very reasonably priced. On the day of install, Matt and his team were punctual, worked efficiently, and cleaned up when the job was completed. I would definitely use Matt again for future electrical projects!
Matt contacted minutes I posted the job. He was at my home before me right at agreed time. He fixed an electric circuit with 2 lsmps, 2 switches and a dimer on the stairs. He took his time to sort outthe issueand fixed it. Highlyrecommended. Thank you Matt.
Matt did a great job with realigning our wall lights in two bathrooms and disconnecting a back-lit mirror. He was on-time, worked at a solid pace, and was a clear communicator throughout the process. His pricing is reasonable & we wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again for future electrical needs.
I had a fantastic experience working with Matt. He was incredibly thorough in troubleshooting some tricky electrical issues and went above and beyond to make sure everything was done right.
