Donald Sullivan & Sons describes itself on its BBB page as a plumbing, heating and cooling company, and the BBB grades it A+. On Google it shows 3.8 stars from 8 ratings. A 2023 customer said they first used the company when a new shower was installed in their home, brought in by the contractor on that job. That 2023 customer said they had since used the company many times for issues in a 40-year-old home. A 2025 customer wrote of a quick response, good work and reasonable prices, and a 2026 customer said the company never let them down. Billing is the sorest point for some who hired them. A 2025 customer said the company charged $1,500 to snake a toilet while they were away on a business trip, for a visit they said took 4 hours. When that 2025 customer called the owner posing as a new customer, they said he quoted $200 to come out plus $140 per hour. That 2025 customer said an invoice breakdown requested at 9 a.m. still had not been emailed by 3 p.m. A 2024 customer paid over $900 to reset a toilet, fix a tub stopper, look into why the tub spigot gave no hot water and stop a shower leak. That 2024 customer said it took two visits to get on the same page, and called part of that their own fault for not being explicit about the tub. A 2023 customer said the plumber showed up about 40 minutes late to both appointments and charged $300 without fixing the issue. When the leak got worse, that 2023 customer said the plumber blamed a defective part and wanted $150 to come out again. That 2023 customer said Home Depot found nothing wrong with the part, and someone else repaired and installed the kitchen faucet the first time.
They never let me down
Quick response. Good work. Reasonable prices
Stay away from these guys. They charged my wife $1,500 to snake the toilet while I was away on a business trip. They sold her the story that they had to do so much which was remove the toilet, snake it and put the toilet back. They spent 4 hours total there. I thought it was a lot, so I called the owner and pretended that I was a new customer. I asked how much do you charge to come out and snake the toilet. He said $200 to come out plus $140 per hour. I asked even if it's two guys, he said, yes, we work in teams, it's still $140/hour. I said not bad, but you charged me $1,500 last week for exactly that. He said "oh that was different, that was a mess". How was it different I said? He said it just was. I ended the conversation as there was no point, he had no explanation for me. I decided to call back and ask for a detailed breakdown of the invoice and this time a lady picked up. I explained what happened and asked for the invoice and she immediately said that I misunderstood and it is $140/hour per person. So they quickly changed their story. I said make sure you guys are on the same page next time and just send me the invoice so I can write you guys a review. This was at 9 a.m., 3 p.m. came around and I still didn't have the invoice emailed to me. I called back and the same lady told me "they're still working on the invoice". lol, sure thing. My advise is stay away from these guys.
It took two visits to get on the same page with what I wanted done. To reset a toilet, fix the stopper in my tub, figure out why I dont get hot water from the tub spigot and stop a leak in the shower heat cost over 900.00. No hot water from the tub spigot maybe a boiler issue and the house. Still feels like I paid twice to finish what I felt could have been done in 1 visit. But that was my fault for not being explicit enough with what I meant by fix the tub. Not sure I will use them again or not.
I first used this Sullivan and Sons when had a new shower installed in my home. They were hired by the contactor. After a few years I have used them many times for issues associated with having a 40 year old home. They are fast, effective, and very professional. Im very happy to have found a permanent solution to any future plumbing needs.
