Doran Mechanical is a Brookline plumbing, heating and mechanical outfit that does much of its work in condo buildings, and it holds 3.3 stars from 19 Google ratings, with customers praising the technicians and complaining about the bills. BuildZoom lists HVAC, sheet metal and mechanical work and 22 projects. When a job goes well, customers name the technicians. In November 2025, a customer said Cliff, Will, Marcelo and Flavio fixed their heat fast, and an October 2025 reviewer said Flavio and David arrived on time, quickly diagnosed and fixed a plumbing problem, and cleaned up. A September 2024 customer said Will and his team solved a very complex pipe situation, and a June 2024 reviewer said the company replaced a cast iron waste stack in their condo neatly and professionally. Price is what unhappy customers bring up. An April 2023 Google reviewer called $415 to unblock a sink daylight robbery, and a January 2023 reviewer rated them quick and capable but gave their "hit n run prices" one star. In a July 2021 BuildZoom review, a customer required to use the company under condo rules said it wouldn't let them use their own parts, billed $880 for about an hour of work, and that Mr. Doran took two weeks to get back to them and refused any refund. A November 2022 customer said the crew came to install a simple water filter and then said they didn't want to do it. In an August 2024 review, a customer said that many years ago the company yelled at them in front of their young son so badly that they almost sought a restraining order.

Great , fast service. Cliff, Will, Marcelo, and Flavio specifically did a great job fixing my heat as fast as possible. Thank you Doran mechanical !
Flavio and David from Doran Mechanical and Plumbing were amazing! They were on time and communicative; they quickly diagnosed and fixed the plumbing issue; they literally cleaned up and disinfected everything which was so awesome because I thought I was going to have to do that cleaning after they left… but they took care of everything and left my apartment clean. They were professional and respectful. Thanks, guys!
Excellent service! Remarkable attention to each detail. A very complex plumbing pipe situation and Will and his team found the solution. I highly recommend Doran!!
Many years ago, they yelled at me in front of my then-little son so badly that I almost got a restraining order. I didn't because the management company said they well stop hiring Doran. Now I am sorry I didn't because somehow they got back "in" with a new management company we have, and are back in the building. It makes me fearful for my safety just remembering this incident!
We had this company replace a cast iron waste stack in our condo! The condo association hired them! They were very professional and very neat and organized every one of the workers were very knowledgeable and helpful to resolve the issue! I own a plumbing and HVAC company in another state and would high recommend this company! Keep up the great work the owner should be proud of all of the employees that worked on this project!
