Dovetail Home Inspection says it was founded in 2003 by Brent Booker and describes itself as a family-owned father-and-son business operated by Brent and Bryan Booker. Its website describes buyer-focused home inspections with electronic reports and photographs, radon testing, and private-well water quality and quantity testing. A recent customer said Bryan was thorough and helpful with their inspection while buying a home. A 2025 customer said Bryan inspected two potential properties, answered all of their questions, explained the process as they went through the properties, and provided a detailed report documenting the findings. In a 2023 review, a customer said Brent gave a thorough inspection on a home they were possibly purchasing and made sure they understood everything as he went through the house. Not every inspection landed well. A recent customer who paid a lot of money for an inspection called the result a laundry list of items like paint chipping, clean gutters and difficulty opening a door, and objected that the company said they were not heating or cooling experts. A 2023 customer wrote that two months after buying a house this company inspected, they faced $3k+ in fireplace issues that were never looked at, that a roofer called the roof, described at inspection as halfway through its life, end of life and in need of full replacement, and that the radon in water test was done incorrectly and had to be done twice.
