Drake T. Elliott is an electrician serving Groton, Massachusetts. BuildZoom identifies him as an electrician handling electrical work, while Thumbtack lists service upgrades, sub-panels, recessed lighting, remodel wiring, repairs, lighting, switches and outlets, generators, fans, and panels. Thumbtack says he has been in business for nine years and lists 52 hires. Homeowners describe a broad mix of hands-on electrical work. In a 2025 review, customers said a semi-flush light was installed quickly and the old fixture was hauled away. A 2023 account described two new charging outlets, concealed wiring, and isolation of a refrigerator circuit, praising a cost-effective, less destructive approach. Other dated reviews describe successful fixture, switch, outlet, and lamp-post work, including prompt follow-up the next morning after a problem was reported. There is also a serious contrary account. A 2024 BuildZoom review says a permit was not pulled despite the project requiring one, calls the work incorrect, and says another electrician had to replace the circuit breaker to bring a GFCI installation up to code. Before booking, confirm who will pull required permits, how the work will be inspected, and the exact electrical scope. He may suit routine lighting, outlet, wiring, and upgrade projects where a homeowner wants practical options, but the permitting and code concerns make written scope and inspection responsibilities especially important.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Drake T Elliott. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Standard receptacle swaps — a new dedicated circuit is a bigger job ($350–$750).
Flush mounts, pendants, chandeliers — hung on existing boxes.
Estimated range
$530 – $1,100
Typical electrical project around $820
I needed a semi flush mount light installed to replace the clunker the previous owner left. The guys came and got it done in no time. They even hauled away the junk!
This electrician knew I had a building permit for my project and that he needed to pull a permit. He did not. He did not respond when I and the electrical inspector called to have him pull a permit. He did not do the job correctly as another electrician had to install a different kind of circuit breaker (arc) to bring the GFI he installed up to code.
Drake arrived on time for both the estimate and the work and he installed two new outlets one for a under-the-counter bev/wine fridge and cabinet charging shelf, and the other for a foyer charging station with the wiring hidden behind a shoe stand. He also isolated my primary fridge that was formerly on its own switch but due to kitchen renovations was recently replumbed and moved to a new outlet that could be tripped by the main kitchen GFC outlets. The pricing was a great value. Drake opted to take the most cost effective and least destructive courses for a problem area where even the plumbers had difficulty accessing downstairs and he did all this work both courteously and professionally the entire time. The finished work looks great (even though both new sockets will be hidden). He went above and beyond and actually carried my beverage fridge from my garage to my kitchen (I live in a vertical townhome with lots of stairs from the entrance to the first floor!). And a bonus for folks with fur babies, he's good with pets (my Great Danes adored him and his colleague). This guy's a champ. Strong recommend. Note: the actual cost was approximately half the estimated cost when Drake found an more cost effective solution.
Drake was really good. He came on time and fixed a switch outlet in our patio taking care of aesthetics. Will surely seek his services again when need comes.
Drake was very punctual; but the lamp post did work before he came and didn't after he left. The screws he used were impossible to get off to replace any bulb in the future without a Phillips head screw driver. At 11:52 PM that evening - when we all decided to go to bed, and we turned on the lamp post light - we were shocked that it did not work! We decided to just leave a msg on Drake's business line. Be advised that the business line is actually Drake's cell phone which we were unaware of. However, Drake was very responsive and came out the next morning; he told us that the problem from the day before was that the bulb had not been tightened enough after he had looked at it the day before - but of course he had not checked it after taking it apart the day before - but we appreciated his fixing the issue and the lamp post has worked perfectly since. We realize that we will have to replace the lamp light in the near future as recommended. Update: Drake came by a day later and also installed the proper screws for the lamp at no charge. I appreciated that extra service very much. Thank you Drake for your professionalism.
