When someone on Holden's Nextdoor asks who fixes appliances, the answer that comes back is Drapeau Appliance, with a phone number attached — though the neighbor passing it along in June 2026 admitted they had never used the company, only seen the name come up. Since 2023, 45 reviews have landed across Google, Angi and Thumbtack, and Google sits at 5 stars over 19 ratings. Three customers describe being talked out of the repair. An October 2024 Angi reviewer with a dying washer was told the fix would come close to the price of a new machine, and wrote that they were given an honest opinion when they could have been ripped off. A September 2024 customer was told their microwave was finished, and the replacement went in on a return visit. In a July 2025 review, another washer customer was told upfront that a new machine was the answer. More than a dozen reviewers mention how fast the reply or the visit came. A July 2026 Thumbtack customer had a correct diagnosis and the parts the next day, and the refrigerator running again. A dryer in an August 2025 review was diagnosed, ordered for and repaired inside four days. In an August 2024 review, a Maytag washer throwing an F5 lock error — which a certified repair company had already charged for and answered by attaching a wire to the lock — was diagnosed in ten minutes on a Friday. A February 2024 reviewer whose refrigerator quit on Christmas Eve called the day after Christmas and got a visit that same day. The awkward jobs get taken on too. A September 2024 review describes an LG refrigerator running again after the R600 iso-butane compressor failed less than three years in, once LG issued the authorization letter for warranty work. Another August 2024 customer had a dryer with three separate broken parts that had to be special-ordered and adjusted. Two things to settle up front. A November 2024 Angi review called the job overpriced and the work incompetent: the writer says a leaking dishwasher was diagnosed as a bad gasket, and only after that gasket went in did a second failed part come to light, which they ended up buying themselves. And the service fee is charged even when nothing needs fixing — a January 2025 Thumbtack customer whose dishwasher turned out to be fine paid it, and said they understood.
