Drapeau's Appliance Repair is Dave Drapeau, a one-man appliance repair business working out of Holden and serving the surrounding towns. He fixes what other people replace, and that is the thread running through the reviews. A 2025 customer said he told them honestly that a washer was not worth repairing and to buy new instead of taking the job; a 2024 customer said the same about consulting him rather than buying a new appliance outright; another 2024 customer had a microwave he declared beyond saving and then came back to install the replacement. A 2024 customer described him getting an LG refrigerator running again after the R600 iso-butane compressor failure, waiting on LG's letter of authorization to do the repair under warranty and still arriving before LG's own contractor could. Speed is the second theme. A 2024 customer whose refrigerator died on Christmas Eve said he came out the day after Christmas, fixed a screeching dryer while he was there, and returned to finish the fridge once the part arrived. A 2025 customer had a dryer diagnosed, parted and fixed inside four days. A 2024 customer with a Maytag F5 lock error said he diagnosed it in ten minutes on a Friday and finished it in another ten on Monday, after a certified repair company had already overcharged them and simply attached a wire to the lock. Price comes up constantly and always in the same direction: an estimate well below others in a 2025 review, $115 for a prompt fair-priced call in 2024, $75 in another. Reviewers describe a diagnostic fee charged even when nothing needed fixing — one 2025 customer said they were sorry to pay it but understood, and valued the explanation they got instead. The dissent is a single one-star from November 2024: a dishwasher leak diagnosed as a gasket, a second bad part identified only after the gasket was installed, a part the customer then sourced themselves, and a dishwasher that in their account still leaks after $350. It is the only complaint in the record. This is a fit for a homeowner who wants an honest verdict on whether a machine is worth saving, and who is comfortable dealing with one person rather than a dispatcher. Confirm the diagnostic fee and what it covers before booking.
“Dave Drapeau, Drapeau Appliance. I’ve not used him but have seen his name posted here.”
“I’d suggest an appliance repair company. Drapeau Appliance, (508) 963-5910”
David responded very quickly and responded the next day with the parts. His diagnosis was correct and now my refrigerator is working again.
Dave was very knowledgeable and polite. Reasonable pricing
Dave was super nice and came out to look at my dryer quickly. He identified the issue, got the part in and had it fixed within a 4 day span. Seemed to have a lot of knowledge about dryers and will definitely be my go to for future issues!
I meant to write a review months ago - he came quickly and was super professional. We had to get a new washer and he was upfront and honest. Hourly rate is very reasonable. Will call him again if i need anything!
