DryBoston Restoration answers calls in Newton, MA for the ones that can't wait: a water heater valve that fails overnight, a pipe that lets go in a historic home, a basement filling with water. Every review on Google that names someone names the same technician, Jake, showing up fast, explaining what's happening, and getting the water out before it turns into a mold problem. The company says it launched in 2019 as part of Total Contracting, a Greater Boston general contractor that's worked across New England since 2015 and reports more than 1,500 restoration and construction jobs completed; it describes itself as woman-owned. The Google page backs that up with a clean slate: 16 ratings, all five stars, and eleven written reviews from January and February 2026 that mostly read like real accounts of a bad day fixed — a shutoff valve that failed overnight, a historic home's finishes protected during a water incursion, a pipe that burst in a hard freeze. One homeowner with a historic property specifically credited the crew with safeguarding original finishes while tracking down the source of the leak. A member listing with the Newton Chamber of Commerce and a couple of mentions on remediation directories point to the same Mechanic Street address and the same story. Worth knowing: most of that review activity landed in a tight cluster within a few weeks, and a handful of the five-star reviews are short and generic — "Great Service!", "Best in the biz!" — rather than detailed accounts, so the pool of genuinely substantive reviews is smaller than the star count suggests. DryBoston reads like the right call for a genuine water, fire, mold, or storm emergency in the Newton/Needham/Boston corridor rather than a planned renovation — the reviews are almost entirely about crisis response, not finish work. Before booking, it's worth asking who exactly will be on site, since reviewers name specific technicians, and getting the insurance-documentation process spelled out up front, since more than one reviewer mentioned relying on it for a claim.

There’s nothing quite like being woken up by the sound of my house attempting to install an in ground pool in the basement. After heading downstairs, I found that our water heater valve burst. Thankfully, I reached out to DryBoston and spoke with Jake. He came with his equipment and the water disappeared in no time. Jake explained everything and couldn’t have been more patient, kind and reassuring. By the time they were done, the basement was back to looking like its old self. Five stars, zero puddles. Would absolutely prefer this doesn’t happen again, but I know I will reach out immediately to DryBoston if ever needed

I can’t recommend the pros at Dry Boston / Total Contracting enough after their swift and careful handling of a sudden residential moisture issue. Following an unexpected water incursion in our historic home, Jake and Rick’s team provided prompt mitigation, thoughtful guidance, and a genuinely steady hand—especially when it came to safeguarding historic finishes while fully investigating and diagnosing the extent of the issue.

Their reporting—critical for insurers—was exceptionally detailed and impressively timely, particularly compared to our prior experiences with other emergency contractors affiliated with larger national brands. Jake was consistently responsive and precise in his communication (even on weekends), and we deeply appreciated his sense of ownership throughout what can be a complex and daunting process.

While we hope to never need these services again, it’s a relief to know exactly who we would rely on if we ever do. A++.

Calling DryBoston was the best decision I made on the worst day for my plumbing. One minute everything was fine, the next minute my house decided water belongs everywhere. DryBoston arrived so fast I barely had time to finish stressing out. They took control immediately, explained what was happening, and worked like people who have seen every possible water-related disaster and were not impressed by mine. The cleanup was thorough, the process was painless, and they somehow made a chaotic situation feel manageable. If my house ever tries something like that again, DryBoston is on speed dial.

DryBoston was outstanding to work with. Their team was professional, responsive, and extremely knowledgeable from start to finish. They showed up quickly, explained everything clearly, and handled the situation with care and efficiency. The quality of their work and attention to detail really stood out, and they made a stressful situation much easier to deal with. I highly recommend DryBoston to anyone in need of reliable and trustworthy restoration services.

“If you ever want to experience the thrill of a home‑renovation reality show — minus the dramatic music but with the same level of emotional damage — call this restoration company. When my pipe burst, I was two seconds away from accepting my new identity as ‘that guy who lives in a water feature.’ These people showed up so fast I’m convinced they either teleported or were already hiding in my walls. They even saved my dog, who had fully given up on me and was preparing to evolve gills. The best thanks dry boston
