Ridge Painting & Restoration is a Boston-based painting and restoration business that Kieran Ridge, its owner-operator, started in 2009 — painting houses and commercial buildings in some of Boston's wealthier neighborhoods, according to a 2017 profile of the local trade. The company's own site describes an owner-operated exterior and interior painting business that also handles lead paint removal and carpentry and surface repair, working across the western and northern Boston suburbs, from Arlington and Belmont to Framingham and Lexington. What comes up again and again in the reviews — a 5.0 average across 41 Google ratings and an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau — is Kieran himself: crews described as responsive, on time, and easy to reach with questions, whether the job is one bathroom or a full exterior repaint. Several clients have hired him more than once; one homeowner called him back four separate times over eleven years. The work often runs past straight paint — reviewers describe crews replacing rotted wood trim and cedar shakes, patching drywall and ceiling holes, and repairing a century-old plaster ceiling damaged by a leak, all folded into the painting job rather than billed as a separate trade. The written history runs mostly recent: 8 reviews in the last six months alone, none of them negative, on top of reviews stretching back to 2017. The one clear exception sits well outside that window — in an April 2019 Houzz review, a prospective client described trying to reach Kieran for an estimate, being asked to send photos of the paint issues, and then never hearing back. It's an isolated account from before any work began, and no similar complaint appears in the reviews since, but it's worth knowing the intake process hasn't always been airtight. Ridge Painting is a solid call for a homeowner who wants one crew to handle both the paint and the wood or drywall repair that often comes with an older New England house — cedar shake siding, trim, or lead paint on a pre-1978 property. Before booking, it's worth confirming timeline and scope in writing given the one dated report of a stalled follow-up, and asking directly about the Lead-Safe Certified process if the job involves pre-1978 paint.
“For Kieran Ridge, who owns a business painting houses and commercial buildings in wealthy neighborhoods of Boston, income fluctuations are part of the job. Ridge Painting & Restoration has thrived since he started the business in 2009”
Kieran and his crew at Ridge Painting cleaned and stained our dried, faded, and fallen cedar shakes siding and repainted our trim, rehabbing and replacing shakes as needed. Everyone on the job was professional and courteous, with great communication from the initial consult and quote (and our many questions) with Kieran to the end. Great execution and follow-through, and cleanup, from everyone on the job. The house looks great - and we would use absolutely him again.
I called Ridge Painting for a quote to paint two bathrooms and received a very reasonable price. Kieran did a great job. He was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend Ridge Painting.
Ridge did work in my store and it came out great. Good communication, punctuality, and fair price. Would use them again for next project.
Ridge Painting did a wonderful job on our house. The team was easy to work and communicate with, was timely, and very detail oriented. They put in the work prepping and taking care of carpentry fixes before painting and the end product shows. We certainly recommend them.
Kieran was responsive, flexible, and did great work. Highly recommend!
