Hardwood floors are what DS General Services gets hired for, and what customers describe in the most detail. A July 2022 homeowner said the refinished floors looked brand new and that the crew arrived every morning on time and worked without stopping. Two others that year made the same point about dust — a September 2022 customer said all that sanding left none in the rest of the house, and a November 2022 customer said the finish came in on budget with little dust behind it. A May 2024 customer said the floors were done right away and the price was reasonable. Welhington Da Silva runs the company out of Framingham, and its Angi and HomeAdvisor profiles put it at 21 years in business, though Houzz says 17. Between the listings the work covers hardwood refinishing and installation, interior painting, tile, kitchen and bath remodeling, plus the office cleaning and janitorial side the Better Business Bureau lists. Houzz has given it a Best of Houzz award three years running, 2024 through 2026, and shows 97 posted projects; the Better Business Bureau grades it A+ but does not accredit it. The unhappy accounts are about painting and scheduling rather than floors. A July 2021 BuildZoom reviewer hired the company for interior painting and found paint on outlet covers and trim and whole sections of wall left unpainted, then had to ask for a return visit. A 2020 BuildZoom reviewer said the crew was on time the first day and seven hours late the second, and that the phone manner needed work — the same reviewer was impressed by the range of sanders used and by how well they vacuumed. The platform numbers sit at opposite ends. Angi and HomeAdvisor carry the same 271 ratings at 4.9, 95 percent of them five stars, while the two accounts on BuildZoom average 2.0. The obvious call in MetroWest for hardwood sanding and refinishing, where the customer accounts are deepest and most recent. For interior painting or a remodel, ask for addresses from the past year and put in writing what happens if something needs redoing — and check which licence covers your job, since Houzz lists a construction supervisor number and BuildZoom a home improvement contractor registration.
