Dumont Home Inspection Services is a small family inspection business working out of southeastern Massachusetts — the BBB lists it at 299 Old Stevens Rd in Swansea as an S corporation started in 2013 with one employee and Steven Dumont as president, and BuildZoom carries an address in Assonet. The company describes itself as family-run with about 30 years of combined experience, inspecting single-family homes, multi-family buildings and condos and adding pest, moisture and private-well water testing, with reports emailed within 24 hours. The feedback that exists is thin — four reviews, all from 2026 — and it splits. A repeat client said in April that they had used Steve and Jeff since 2016 across three properties in the Fall River area, one single-family and two multifamily, and that no inspection had missed anything they later found. Another April reviewer credited Steve with working out scheduling between them and the sellers and Jeff with a knowledgeable, thorough inspection, and a June reviewer called the work very thorough and worth every penny. The fourth review, also in April, is a one-star account from a buyer of a Marion Rd. property purchased in 2025. They wrote that after moving in they found a shower leaking because no caulking had been applied around the drain and faucet — which also meant repairing the ceiling below — plus an improperly installed toilet and a leaking basement heater, all repairs they paid for themselves, and said they would not use or recommend the company again. The rest of the record is administrative rather than reputational: the BBB grades the company A+ but it is not BBB accredited, and the two Rhode Island home inspector licence numbers BuildZoom lists are marked unverified with an expiration date it last saw in February 2022. With this few reviews there is not enough to call the pattern either way, so treat it as a business you vet directly: ask which inspector will do your inspection, ask for a recent sample report, and confirm the current Massachusetts (and, if the property is in Rhode Island, the Rhode Island) licence before you book.
