E & C Contracting LLC

E & C Contracting is a Somerville-based general contractor — the company describes itself as handling residential and commercial remodeling, new construction, additions, and roofing and siding work. Its BBB profile lists it as not accredited and not independently rated, and says it has been in business 11 years. The written record here consists of eight Google reviews, all five stars, all dated to 2022 — there's nothing newer on file, so this reflects the company's work from a few years back rather than anything current. Within that window, the range of projects described is substantial: in one 2022 review, Eli and his crew converted a ranch house into a colonial on time and on budget; in another, they renovated a two-family rental that tenants had left in poor condition; a third described a finished basement that exceeded the homeowner's own vision, with the crew accommodating detailed last-minute requests. A different 2022 reviewer described two separate projects over two years — replacing wood decks and concrete stairs with Trex decking, then adding a mudroom — both done to the homeowner's full satisfaction. Owner Eli comes up by name in nearly every review, described as responsive and attentive throughout. Because every account on file is from 2022, a homeowner considering E & C today should ask directly about current crew size, availability, and recent project photos — the written history here speaks well of the work at that time, but doesn't say much about the last several years.
