A 5.0 average across 127 Google ratings usually deserves a squint. This one has held across 122 reviews going back to 2023, and the accounts are specific enough to be worth reading: installers named, what got mounted where, how long the crew was in the house. The work is narrow by design. East Coast Mini Splits & Heat Pumps, based in Pembroke, puts in ductless mini-splits, ceiling cassettes and ducted heat pump systems, often replacing oil or propane heat. A homeowner writing in March 2026 swapped a propane furnace for a ducted system; another that same month replaced oil heat with a ducted A/C-and-heating system and said the crew redrew the plan around the house instead of selling a pre-defined one. They also service what they install: in May a customer described a slow leak in a copper connector on an outdoor unit that took a full pressure test to track down before it was repaired and recharged. Speed is the through-line. In July, an upstairs AC died and the crew was there first thing Monday with it running by 8 AM. In February, a furnace that quit during the coldest week of the year was replaced in a few hours. Several people put quote-to-finished-install inside a week. The other recurring beat is paperwork: the office is credited over and over with running the Mass Save rebate rather than handing it back to the homeowner. The dissent is worth reading before signing. In March 2026 a two-star customer said the install itself was quick, but the rebate process "was made to seem pretty simple" and instead dragged and was stressful, and that the mini-splits show an error code and stop working when it is very cold or snowing. That customer also said the Cooper & Hunter equipment installed was the only option short of paying double. Nineteen reviews have landed in the last six months and one is negative, so this reads as a single sour note rather than a pattern, but it points at the right questions: which equipment tier is actually being quoted, what the cold-weather output is for the heads proposed, and who files the rebate and by when. If you are on the South Shore converting off oil or propane, or adding cooling to a house with no ductwork, this is a sensible shop to get in front of. Confirm the equipment brand and its low-temperature rating in writing, and pin down the rebate timeline before the crew is scheduled.
“Mine installed by East Coast Mini Splits / Graham Built, based in Pembroke MA. The A/C is lovely.”
A pleasure to work with. Peter was prompt, communicated quickly and clearly with updates, had state of the art software to measure my house and show me what our new system would look like installed in real time on his iPad and instantly calculate what sizing we would need for ceiling cassette and wall mounted heat pumps. He had an estimate out to me for the two systems I was deciding between in less than a few hours which was impressive. He was also very helpful and knowledgable about the Mass Save program. The quote was transparent, no hidden costs, fair and we did not feel upsold on anything or pressured in any way. East Coast's price was much more reasonable than several other vendors who wanted to offer inferior choice in product for far more money. On install day, Kevin, Leo, John, Luke, James, Peter and Eric were out the first day and were like a well rehearsed small army, you could tell they knew what they were doing and worked well together. The were friendly, neat and organized, covered everything in my home impeccably, were very respectful of the yard and careful with everything inside. Their install work was level, clean, extremely conscientious and detail oriented, they completed almost 90% of the job on the first day ahead of schedule and I didn't find a speck of dust when I got home from work. All of the units look great installed, they function perfectly, and we could not be more happy with using East Coast Mini Splits and Heat Pumps. We decided to go with them because of the over 120+ five star reviews on Google but just the general pleasant interaction from the start and not having to chase them to get answers to our many questions before pulling the trigger on this project. It is always nice when something comes to completion exceeding expectations as this job did. Would definitely recommend East Coast Mini Splits and Heat Pumps to anybody interested in ceiling cassette and wall mount heat pumps and no I was not offered a discount or compensated for this review, I am just thrilled with how awesome this team was!
