East Coast Pipelines is a Quincy, MA drain and sewer specialist that the BBB's profile puts at 22 years in business, run by owner Mike Walsh. The reviews — 46 of them, running from 2021 to today — are remarkably consistent: fast to show up, careful to explain what's wrong, and quick to prove it with a camera. Google has them at 4.9★ from 62 ratings, and the BBB gives an A+ letter grade (the company isn't BBB-accredited). The through-line across the written record is root intrusion and clogged main lines — reviewers describe waking up to a backed-up basement and getting Mike, Travis, or Kenny out the same day or within the hour. Camera inspection is a signature move: several customers mention being handed a flash drive or emailed video of the actual pipe, and sewer pipe lining and high-pressure water jetting come up repeatedly as the fix for root-choked lines that snaking alone couldn't clear. In a 2023 review, one customer describes a nearly $14,000 excavation quote from another company (Roto-Rooter), then a far cheaper fix after East Coast's camera diagnosis. Two reviews are worth reading before booking a bigger job. In a 2023 review, a customer said they felt pressured to sign a five-figure liner installation, only to get a second opinion that found no liner was needed at all — worth getting a competing quote on any large proposed repair. A separate 2024 one-star review said the value didn't match what was paid for a service program, though it doesn't spell out the specific work involved. For a clogged drain, a root-choked sewer line, or a camera diagnosis before a costly dig, this looks like a reliable South Shore call — just get a second number on anything at the liner-or-excavation scale before signing.
Mike Walsh and his assistant did a wonderful job clearing out my main drain pipe of about 4 ft of roots with the utmost professionalism! Before doing the job Mike explained everything to me. He answered all my questions was extremely friendly professional and knowledgeable with my issue. I had an emergency sewer backup and Mike Walsh from East Coast Pipelines came out the same day to help. He was incredibly friendly, professional, and took the time to explain everything he was doing. He used a high-power jet machine and a sewer camera to clear a ton of roots from both my line and the shared main line out to the street. The work was extremely thorough — he didn’t rush, made multiple passes, and made sure everything was completely clear before he left. He even handed me a USB drive with the recorded camera footage without me even asking, which I really appreciated. For the amount of work involved, the price was more than fair. I really appreciate how responsive, honest, and easy to work with Mike was. I highly recommend East Coast Pipelines to anyone dealing with sewer line issues or root intrusions. Great service from a great company.
Tinory Construction Company LLC has used East Coast for years, always on time and work is impeccable. They represent service my customers and I can depend on time and time again.
We recently had high-pressure water jetting done on our main sewer line, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the results. The crew was professional, punctual, and clearly experienced. They explained everything upfront and used top-of-the-line equipment to completely clear out years of buildup in our sewer line. What really stood out was how thorough the cleaning was—far more effective than traditional snaking. You could literally hear the difference in water flow afterward. It gave us peace of mind knowing the line was completely flushed and running like new again. Highly recommend this service for anyone dealing with slow drains, recurring clogs, or just looking for preventative maintenance. Worth every penny!
With a quick response and availability East Coast was able to evaluate and track multiple drainage pipe runs. This helped avoid a costly mistake and plan for future improvements.
