Hub Refrigeration

Hub Refrigeration has been at this since 1947. It is a Quincy company that keeps commercial refrigeration and heating and cooling running for businesses rather than a residential service shop: its own site describes work across Greater Boston and New England, adding plumbing, electrical, sheet metal and construction alongside the refrigeration, and places it in a family of companies with Medford Wellington Service Co. and Morris Mechanical. The specialist end of that is supermarket-scale refrigeration. The company says its technicians are factory-trained on Hillphoenix and Kysor Warren RACK systems, and that it holds OSHA and Hot Works certification and sponsors state-certified apprentices. The Better Business Bureau grades it A+ without accrediting it and records it as incorporated in 1947, listing a Massachusetts Department of Public Safety licence and a refrigeration contractor licence for the business. It is also a Quincy Chamber of Commerce member. Two things are worth checking before you sign anything. Its Massachusetts sheet metal licence, 514-SM-B, is recorded as expired on the state registry, so ask what covers the work you need now. And the one written review on file, from May 2026, is not about a job at all: a passer-by in Salem said a company driver did not stop for a woman already halfway across a crosswalk. Its Google rating is 2.6 from five ratings. For a restaurant, store or plant with refrigeration that cannot go down, this is a long-established commercial contractor worth putting on a bid list. Ask for references on RACK work and for current licence numbers covering your scope.
