Eco Options Hardwood, a partnership between Chris Rivard and Chris Ferriero working out of Medford, focuses on hardwood floor installation, sanding and refinishing with an environmental angle β low- and zero-VOC finishes, water-based coatings, and custom dye work β and the company describes more than 25 years of combined experience in the trade. The one written review on file, from October 2018, describes a real crisis: a hot water heater failure sent water under the homeowner's hardwood floors, spreading into the living room, dining area and den. The reviewer said Chris and his crew ripped out and replaced the damaged floors, leaving the condo looking good again, and recommended the company highly. In a 2020 trade-publication piece about wood flooring businesses, the company was quoted describing its own pricing philosophy directly: it may charge 25% more than competitors, but puts in 75% more time and effort on a job β a specific claim worth weighing against a couple of comparison quotes before committing. There isn't much else in the written record β Houzz shows a perfect rating, but from just one review β so it's worth asking for a couple of recent references, particularly for anything involving water damage or an eco-conscious finish, before booking.
βWe may charge 25% more, but we put in 75% more time and effort.β

I highly recommend Eco Options Hardwood in Medford. My hot water heater gave out and the water got under my hardwood floors, spreading into my living room, dining area and den. Chris and his crew did a remarkable job of ripping out my floors and replacing them. My condo looks great! They are professional, personable, punctual and a pleasure to work with. All of the work was done while I was at work because I gave my keys to Chris. He and his crew are dependable and trustworthy and a pleasure to work with. KUDOS to Chris and crew for making this project stress free for me and for the superlative work that they did.
