Eco Systems Pest Control, a division of Modern Pest Services based in Norwell, has built a reputation around names that keep resurfacing in review after review — chiefly technician Ben Wirth. On Google the company holds 4.8 stars across 276 ratings, and several long-time customers describe sticking with the company for well over a decade: one says nineteen years, another twenty. The reviews describe a similar visit again and again: a technician explains what he's doing — setting traps for mice, spraying for carpenter ants, clearing a bee or wasp nest — then checks back on the result. In a 2023 review, a customer credited technician Miguel Santiago with identifying a mouse species and offering advice about noises in the gutters; in a 2021 review, an inspector named Juan Castillo was praised for showing exactly where the problem areas were and how to fix them. Other technicians earn similar mentions: a 2022 review says wasp and hornet problems need to be handled right the first time by Andrew Vasquez, and another 2022 review describes technician Xavier keeping a multi-year carpenter bee, rodent, and ant problem under control. A customer whose family has used the company since 2018 for an ant infestation reports no repeat issues with ants, spiders, or rodents since. Not every visit has gone as smoothly. In a 2023 review, a customer said a $345 visit for a mouse problem lasted only twenty minutes and felt overpriced; another 2023 review complained the company let an urgent issue sit for several weeks before responding, letting it get worse. A 2022 review described no technician showing up for a scheduled spray after the household had cleared cabinets and rooms to prepare, and a 2025 review of the Modern Pest side of the business criticized amateur wildlife trap placement, bait that wasn't refreshed, and a second-week return policy that wasn't honored. For routine mouse, ant, wasp, and bee calls, the sheer number of customers naming a specific technician suggests people are generally glad they called; it's worth confirming the price for a visit up front and getting a firm appointment window, given the handful of complaints about cost and scheduling.
Modern Pest was a disappointment. Whilst the service techs were on-time and efficient, the results were less than satisfactory. Trap setting for wildlife was amateur at best. The trap was not camouflaged nor was the bait refreshed on a daily basis. The firm does not honor their second week return rate. I was "skunked!"
Technician Tomas provided excellent service and answered all of my questions. Thank you for keeping our yard pest free.
We've been with Eco Systems Pest Control for many years and their service has ALWAYS been outstanding. First - they always show up with minutes of when their schedule arrive time is. The technician, usually Scott W for, is very thorough in serving and explaining maintenance treatments provided. We've never have any pest issues since we contracted with them years ago. I highly recommend. And there service applications are a pet friendly approach too!
Truthfully feel like I just got ripped off today paying $345 for a 20-minute visit to deal with a mouse problem in my ceiling. The technician was nice enough and we chatted for a bit, but all they did was just put down 10 different bait stations in various locations and sealed up a couple small holes outside. Didn’t even setup any snap-traps, just bait stations. Was hoping there would be more done for the price I just paid… I could’ve easily done what the technician did on my own for about $20 worth of materials. So was it worth me paying an additional $300+ for 20 minutes of work? Absolutely not. But I thought the professionals would have more to offer. The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because it comes with a 6-month guarantee if the mice continue to be a problem, and they’ll come back and re-bait the house. Overall would not recommend them due to this price point and the effort of work that came with it. Should’ve been at most $100-150 total for the level of work that was just performed, and even that would be stretching it. Not impressed.
When customers call about something that is urgent they need to prioritize and not put customers out several weeks which can increase the severity of the issue
